Star Wars: Battlefront Gets its Gameplay Debut, and It Looks Absolutely Awesome

During Electronic Arts's E3 2015 Press Conference, the publisher finally showcased the first gameplay footage of Star Wars: Battlefront.

I gotta laugh at the voice comms in that trailer, though. All official sounding:
"Hang in there, help is on the way...Blue 15, comin' in!!!"

In reality, it's a 12 year old squeeker shouting various terms for genitalia at people, or a couple of guys talking about the football game.

If someone actually said "This is Blue 12 accelerating to attack speed", the reaction would be laughter. Unless the online mode has canned speech that is event driven.

Looks alright, better then I was expecting but not the Battlefront I fell in love with.

Doesn't feel the same, something is off about it. Lack of overall content aswell which they'll obviously sell back for DLC...or if they want praise they'll do it for free which makes them look good.

It feels/looks just like Battlefront 2 with updated graphics. Nothing seems off, in fact this looks way more epic if you compare the two Hoth maps from both games. Some people are just never pleased.

Much better than I thought it would be (though the way these games are presented are hectic mayhem but that never turely materializes in real life) However, I still think the exclusion of space battles will be sorely missed in this game. Just imagine all that but you could have flown into space.

Asking for those same features, on top of what goes into a game TODAY makes little sense and to ask for it as a bullet point is legit a joke.

Consider the only FF to even bring back driveable airships, is also the one with 8 years development and a shift to next gen consoles.....clearly that feature wasn't as easy to add as some bullet point.

Your not merely asking for some small features, you asking for all the complexities that come with them.

SW BF has plenty, looks amazing and DICE (not sure why your naming the publisher for but ok) has likely many more SW BF to go.

Again...even the last team to do BF DIDN'T HAVE FLIGHT day 1 on their first game. We will likely have those features in DICE's second game when they can properly convey it. I like what I saw from SW BF and I don't buy games based on bullet points.

However i do feel some stuff are improved in the Dice game , in its delivery of a good star wars feel and experience . Not just the graphics , even if like it or not , visuals are important to adapt such a franchise .

There's been articles on it ages ago. There is like a massive page that tells you what EA have said will and won't be in it.

It was talked about for a couple of weeks a month or so ago...hell some guy hacked into the website and uploaded the image of what they had removed from the main game comparing the differences

Your argument about "lack of content" is completely irrelevant at this stage until people begin playing it and even then content is determined on a person to person basis off of personal preference. Also "selling back DLC" is speculative on your part, nothing more.

Controllable AT-AT walker on a game mode like this would be awful.

All you need is that one guy controlling the walker to wander in the wrong direction and now the 39 other people in the game are having a crappy experience.

Why would anyone expect different? IMO after I started playing battlefield 3 I couldn't think of a better shooter, then battlefield 4 was released. Aside from all the issues (that EVERY game has) BF4 was and still is a great game. This was the only way battlefront could have played out and I wouldn't have anyone other than DICE developing it, period.

I was 7 when star wars came out...I guess 10 or something when Empire came out. This is pretty much what I was thinking about 90 percent of the time back then. I was having actual dreams that looked something like this back then so I'm excited about it. To me, it looks like it plays very similar to the other Battlefront games so this is awesome.
