New Mad Max gameplay Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Studios today released the Mad Max™ Gameplay Overview Trailer for the Mad Max™ video game coming this autumn.

Yep. Even the first person view inside Max's car looked good.
What I find most impressive is the character animation, explosion effects and car physics.

There's something untouchable by the truth of a gameplay overview, they're just simply showing off the game and letting us know the mechanics and what not of the game and what it's about.

The CGI teasers and other BS some developers choose to show their games through, doesn't appeal to me.

Not hate. Just was done with the series with MGS4. Max also looks more straight forward. The Fallout game on wheels minus actual mutants and monsters that Carmack's game was suppose to be.

People really need to stop assuming that not interested in a title, especially a sequel or continuation of a franchise means that someone hates it.

well, its combat mechanics were kinda ripped off assassins creed. it looks good but its the most boring combat system ever. if a game has that combat system then i ratherthey just skipped the combat entirely or made it a qte which is essentially what the combat system is.

i loved batman aa but its given other developers who doesnt know how to make a combat game copy its style. before aa we had crappy mechanics but atleast some of those felt original and was challenging now we can link every combo and counter every mode without a struggle.

Definitely got my attention after watching that. The driving and car combat looks satisfyingly fun. Can't say I'm all that impressed with the hand to hand combat. Nothing really stood out to me about that portion, it seemed pretty standard. Really getting tired of the whole "lets all surround him in a circle and wait our turn to be knocked out villains", but not many games handle that situation very well anyway.

Do you really want to be dying at the hands of every group of 4 enemies, the combat is designed to make you feel like a boss, and that's exactly what it does.

Sure you could spam x and get through the fight almost unscathed, or you could use counters, dodges, melee, weapons, and environmental kills in a way that flows and looks natural, so anyone watching would think damn this guy is good.

The Arkham system perfected combat fighting, like it or not.

ill admit that it made casual combat amazing, but thats how far it can go. it does make the action look good and it is very smooth between all animations.

its just missing the complexity in battles. i havent completed arkham city so i cant say much about the boss battles, but arkham asylum boss battles sucked.

Games like dmc, ninja gaiden or even PoP (2006?) had a more complex mechanics and made it fun to pull off combos. but obviously they were a little hard for casuals to learn.

Unlike most, I don't have any hype for this game. I fear that it will be mediocre, since deserts are just... bland. From the video I had an impression that it's a Batman reskin with desert theme, plus cars in deserts. Deserts, deserts, deserts everywhere. Pretty much my greatest fear for this game. Then again, deserts were my least liked theme, and a reason why Uncharted 3 was the worst part for me.

Mad max looks amazing. MAN, I'd really like Interactive Entertainment/Avalanche Studios or another experienced game Studio to make a 3d overhead mad max co op(or single player) game. Oh, and also, would love to jump over dangerous cliff in the game too.

Kind of like Dead nation's overhead game play with super duper effects happening everywhere in the game.

This Mad game play trailer seems to be running in two different FPS. Car chase(or inside his car) seems to be running at 60fps while the hand to hand combat seems to be running at 30FPS.

The explosions are too smooth to be 30PFS. I could be wrong.

Lots of gameplay talk. Love the custom car building RPG like element. And the world and gameplay mechanics look better realised than I thought, it would. I was expecting a reskinned just cause but the dev has clearly gone about this, the right way. The animation in the combat aswell the fighting itself seems pretty fluid and has a batman/sleeping dogs "lock-in and combo" system in place, Which is a nice touch. Gun play seems work well as do the driving mechanics. the cars seem to have a good driving feel to them. The drifts and the jumps suggest the cars handle like Flatout (which would actually be perfect in this kind of game).

Im impressed. And more importantly I have an idea of what im looking forward to. It will be a good game. If I were to take a guess, I will say 8s, 8.5s and the odd 9 at reviews. They seem to have made a really well thought out and solid take on the mad max universe. This could be for them, what batman was for rocksteady.

EDIT: Just a thought....online death races in the mad max world with our custom cars.....They could call it road warrior mode or something. even through in a king of the hill type mode. Maybe with a dash of twisted metal influence.
