I'm going to wait and see what other exclusive the New 3DS gets apart from the 3DS. I just feel like the next Nintendo handheld would be announced in 2-3 years.

Xof3393d ago

Other exclusive? I didn't realize it had even one.

TXIDarkAvenger3393d ago

Xenoblade Chronicles which will only be able to run on the New 3DS.

Xof3392d ago

...Xenoblade Chronicles is a port of a game you can play on a Wii or WiiU. It's no more an exclusive than OoT3D, Tales of the Abyss, or Guacamelee.

No offence to 3ds but these reasons are stupid

I truly feel they should have held off on this unit. If they wanted to add a little C-stick it could have waited till their next iteration. They could have added some more horsepower, backwards compatability, and a C-stick.

I think I'm in the minority but, I haven't had a DS since the DS Lite. So for me this was a good time to get the newest system.

There's a big backlog of 3DS games I haven't played until the New 3DS starts to get its exclusive titles.

Yeah, I'm with you in that minority. Nintendo handhelds I own include: GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance SP, DS Lite, and I've got the MH4U 3DS Bundle being delivered, which I'm really looking forward to.

For those not in our situation, though, I can understand being irked by the various upgrades of the New 3DS. If you've got the cash and you REALLY want one, then pick it up, otherwise you're probably fine as-is.

On a side-note: Does anyone know if the 3DS is compatible with DSi games? I never got that system but I recall liking the look of some of those games.

Double_O_Revan3391d ago

It's compatible with Every DS game. My kids went from the DSi to the 2DS, no problem.

in a year time we will have the successor to the new 3ds. im holding out on this. Number 4 is only for faster download speeds, graphics being enhanced isn't confirmed at all.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.
