Destiny: How to beat this weeks nightfall with ease

Here is this weeks Nightfall Strike Walkthrough. This weeks Nightfall is Summoning Pits and the modifiers are:

*Nightfall – If all players die, you will be returned to orbit.

*Epic – Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.

*LightSwitch – Minions of the Darkness deal much more melee damage.

*Angry – Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage

*Arc Burn - Arc Damage from any source is greatly increased

It's the same strikes every week, I think everyone knows how to beat them already...

ABMN3384d ago

I think you know how to beat it. But there are people that are still newish to the game. I make these videos for them.

CorndogBurglar3384d ago

Keep it up man. I like your videos. They've taught me a lot. I've had the game since launch but i know how to beat a lot of the strikes easily from your vids.

kayoss3384d ago

I just got to level 20, but everytime i play the crucible, I could barely get 2 kills. After going 2-25 i avoid the crucible all together. I'm not being cocky or anything but, I was really good in COD. I know Destiny plays differently but its very similar mechanics and requires fast reflexes.

Now, im just having fun playing the strike playlist. thanks for the video, this will come in handy.

GameSpawn3383d ago

@kayoss

I'm with you. I completely suck in the Crucible. It's probably best to stick with the team CTF mode (can't remember the exact name right now) or just deal with sucking really bad until you can really get used to the layout of the maps.

I really think map knowledge is the key to any multiplayer FPS. In many games knowing where pickups spawn greatly helps - in Destiny's case it is knowing where the Secondary and Heavy ammo spawn points are or having one of the three Exotic weapons that are Secondary-types used in the Primary weapon slot.

The free-for-all modes tend to have very small maps so hand cannons+[fusion rifles/shotguns]+rocket launchers tends to be a very effective combo. Machine guns are useless in PvP because of their low DPS compared to Rocket Launchers; they also lack the splash damage. Sniper Rifles are only good on the team maps since they have larger open areas. In terms of Primaries, it comes down to what you're comfortable with, but personally I like hand cannons for the fact they take up very little of the screen while sighting and have a high damage per shot (even more with headshot bonuses).

TheOnlyMastrx3383d ago

I am newish, too newish, only 27 on my Titan, thanks for the videos even though I probably won't be using them for a while.

BootyBandit3383d ago (Edited 3383d ago )

Fate Bringer *arc, Efrideets Spear *arc and Radegast's Fury *arc (Iron Banner sniper and rocket launcher). The Radegast 1 shots Ultra Hallowed Nights and almost 1 shots Ultra Wizards.

You don't have to go out into the hallway with the waves if you have heavy and a syn or 2. On the 3rd wave we pinned the wizards coming out of the door from the back right corner of the room. probably the easiest nightfall I've done in weeks. Only the Nexus, depending on the burn, compares with how easy it is. Both the Summing Pits and Nexus are a cake walk. The weekly is even easier with arc burn and no shields.

I got 10 strange coins (yay, not!), 8 shards and a Hawkmoon. I didn't need any of them but I always want the multiplier for the week.

I scored 2 Red Deaths off of the VOG tonight so that made up for it. It was the only gun that alluded me. Now I have them all. Hopefully tomorrow I will score the Crux of Crota to get my Necrochasm.

CorndogBurglar3384d ago

Don't be like that. There are plenty of people that got the game for the holidays that have never played this strike on Nightfall.

3384d ago
Linkz9733384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

Honestly some people think it's all about them smh. There are new players everyday and new people finding nightfalls difficult. Also having a different prespective from differ players depending on their style is not a bad thing.

cell9893383d ago

What a selfish person, as if no one over Christmas got the game right? anyway nice strategy, this is one of my fave strikes.

VforVideogames3383d ago

Destiny game is like Driveclub : lots of news but nobody cares.

It there a matchmaking for the co-op stuff now?

ChozenWoan3384d ago

Of cooooarse....
...
...
not.

Bungie wants you to be forced to beat Nightfall on your friends time, not yours.

nucky643384d ago

this is the reason I never got destiny. I was so interested in it - but no matchmaking??? WTH?

Dread3384d ago (Edited 3384d ago )

@Nucky

Destiny has matchmaking for Strikes, Crucible and Iron Banner Tornament.

it does not have matchmaking of nightfall, and Raids.

To be honest, as a seasoned player, I think it would be a real mess to play Raids in regular matchmaking. It might work for nightfall though.

happy gaming.

Linkz9733384d ago

smh not yet honestly I can't stand the no matchmaking system

WildArmed3383d ago

Everything has matchmaking except the (1) Raid (2) Nightfall /weekly strikes (once a week) (3) Daily Stories (...daily?)

The strikes and story missions should really have match making.

Oh wait, NONE of the story has match making too, just so I don't give out false hope.

Strikes, crucible and some events have matchmaking.

It's pretty silly. Everything but the Raid really should have some sort of matchmaking.

KingOfOldSkool3383d ago (Edited 3383d ago )

Even the raid should have matchmaking despite all of the excuses made against including it, there is no reason for it not being an option at all for those who would want to try it. Sensible matchmaking requirements, or at the very least dedicated lobby areas with better ways to communicate with players in-game, would be a vast improvement over the current setup that relies entirely on third-party sites to organize access to some of the games most important content.

KyRo3384d ago

shoot him until his chains are broke, run back into the door way and snipe him until he drops. I'm suprised they haven't moved the shieriker to the other corner of the room to stop this tactic tbh.

Cra2yey33384d ago

That would cause an uproar. It's too late to change it now.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter332d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell332d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig332d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast332d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g332d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka332d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai483d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface482d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard480d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
