i own both and i'm playing more on my xb1 for one simple reason both my HD are full and a 4tb external was much easier solution for my xb1 . i also prefer the controller and not getting interupted by having to charge to continue playing .

XB1 and not only is Forza Horizon 2 and Halo MCC and the Halo 5 beta are my most played games this past December and Jan, the external HDD option and snap feature are big pluses that the other consoles just could not match and is perfect for my all-in-one entertainment center need and storage space.

What's funny is that I hardly ever see PS4 owners try this bs saying that they have both consoles. While some of you XBone owners may do, the majority don't.. Just a clear sign of your insecurity.

I've only owned Playstation consoles, before that, Sega and Nintendo. The reason why i've only had Playstation consoles is because of the diverse library of games. The PS4's library is already growing faster than that of the Xbox One with more horror/survival, RPGs, Action Adventure, Strategy, and Puzzlers, which are the types of games that I like to play. I just don't find the games for Xbox One very appealing. Many of them are simple, easy, and unsophisticated, like they are being made for children and younger teenagers.

I only own an XB1 so my opinion towards which is better is kind of Meaningless until of course I've tried them both. Now I will say as of now the ps4 really doesn't catch my interest as far as games and features go. XB1 just has what I want and no hype or better numbers in any aspect will ever make me decide on which platform to choose.

PS4 is the better system. Which one has the better games is a matter of personal opinion. Some people may not like Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, Killzone, Infamous, Little Big Planet, etc. If you don't like at least one of those game, you're not a true gamer, you're a fanboy. Some people may not like Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Forza, etc. If you do not like at least one of those games, well you are also a fanboy.

I just have to ask the people who say they own both systems but never play one of them while putting in dozens of hours a week on the other. Why did you buy the ps4 or xb1 if you didn't have a reason to play it?
I have all 3 systems and play all of them. I got WiiU first, than PS4 @ launch and XB1 for 330$ on black Friday.
WiiU is a lot of fun, especially playing with my kids.
PS4& XB1 are pretty similar they are both quite with nearly identical gaming features. Controllers is a personal preference thing. But I believe the ps controller improved more from last gen. But it also had to. Both networks have problems but xb1 seem to resolve faster. So if you really own them all you play them all and would have good and bad things to say about them all. Well if you where truly unbiased.

Yeah, I don't have an Xbox One, but I do know what exclusives are out on the system and what exclusives are COMING out for the system. At the moment, it seems better than my PS4, and I'm envious of those owning an Xbox One. I'm sure there are people that will agree with it. Problem is, is that if it's better or not is a subjective thing, so it really comes down to what people want or like. One doesn't have to be biased to have a subjective opinion.

One could argue different points and say one is better than the other on that certain point, but to try and lump it all into a single generalized statement just isn't going to work, because there is no way to qualify it into a common consensus.

To me, a gaming console is all about the games. All that other stuff is just nice extras, so I don't consider it when deciding which console is better than the other. In fact, I don't look at which console is better at all, I look at which games are better. Both systems have great games out, and coming out.

I can say that PS has a longer history of variety and support with their game line ups, so I'm optimistic that will continue, and I'm liking this new game-centric direction that MS has been taking since Phil took over, but overall there hasn't been anything that makes me say, "OMG, I gotta plop down $400 to play that". I was willing to do that for a PS4 because of Sony's history with the PS...MS still has a ways to go before I give them that benefit of the doubt.

Also, you seem to have a lot of pent of hate for the community here. Seriously, your comment on page 2 of this thread is just pathetic. If it bothers you so much, why bother interacting with us? Why not just read the articles and move on? Hmmm...well, me personally, I'm too old to care what other communities feel about N4G. I don't care about other communities overall because I don't go to many of them. I care about the ones I go to, and I like different ones for different reasons. Also, I do know what other communities feel about N4G, because it gets mentioned here, and I do visit several other forums, some as a lurker, others as an active participant.

I'm not sure what "anti-consumerist" decisions Sony has made in regards to the PS brand. Anyhow, if "anti-consumerist" decisions are your criteria for what makes a good console, then it's rather hypocritical of you to claim MS has the better console, because MS is nothing but anti-consumer on a company wide level. I don't think the PS4 will be some sort of holy grail. I honestly don't think that any holy grail is needed. Sony, for over 20 years, has delivered plenty of content, and I've had lots of great games to play at all times on the PS brand. I don't see that changing any time soon. That's why I was willing to buy a PS4 day one, because the PS brand hasn't been a disappointment to date. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else you would be looking for in a game line up. PS4's 2015 line up is amazing in every way. If you have a PS4, and the upcoming line up isn't that interesting, I have to question why you bothered with buying a PS4 in the first place. Can you honestly say that MS X1 line up is a big or as diverse as the PS4 line up for 2015? If you prefer the X1 exclusives better, and that is what wins it for you, then again, I question why you would buy a PS4, since the 2015 line up is classic Sony and something PS fans have been enjoying for years now.

I only own a PS4 and so far it's been a joke. The exclusives are mostly indies. My online features still only work half the time. And the consoles updates like every other month have only made the OS a little better. The PS store was broken during xmas and I was not able to take advantage of the discounts that were available. The sloppy UI feels tacked on and rushed. The hardware is ace on the PS4. Sony did a great job on the most impotant aspect of the console.

The exclusives are mostly indies, yet even if you discount those- something only a certain group has taken to doing- they're like one behind the XB1, and favorable to the Wii U based on timeframe.

The Xbox One is going to get bashed just because of its reputation. Simply because the vocal majority on any major website such as N4G are a bunch of hive-minded fanboys who would squeal every time the Xbox One would get a worthy exclusive and outline it as a "terrible console".

I have both PS4 is the better console,faster game DVR,downloads and installs X1 fails hard in this area. PS4 better UI and superior graphics,go to store on both and look at the cover of a movie or game the image is far superior on PS4 same goes with graphics in game. A month ago I would of said DS4 isn't as good as Xbox controller but I have now changed my mind as I spend 90% of my time on TLOUR online,battery life goes to X1 controller. AAA games overall have been better on Xbox but TLOUR is the best AAA out on either. Apps and features wise X1,online I have had zero issues with Live or PSN.If I had to sell one then unfortunatly the X1 would have to go but I would miss Titanfall badly,and I am a 360 gamer never even played on a PS3 just my honest assessment

I haven't tried the XB1, but I love my PS4. There were so many little things on the ps3 that bugged me so much like syncing trophies taking a long time as well as installing games, not able to download games while doing other things. Just so many small limitations.

I currently have 3 issues with the PS4 however.
1. I can't put music on the hard drive. Sure, a USB works, which is cool, but the ps4 only has 2 usb ports, so I'm constantly taking out the usb to charge my 2nd controller.
2. I can't use my Driving Force GT Racing wheel. This needs to be addressed as almost all other wheels aren't supported either!
3. Sony needs to fix the Playstation store bug. Spending more than 5 min. in a game, only to find there's new dlc out. Well, the PS store doesn't load up, so I have to quit the game, log out of my profile, log back in, and then the PS store loads. Come on sony..

Aside from those issues, the ps4 is the best console I've ever owned. The SNES will always be my favorite, but the ps4 is by far the best.

Again, I haven't played the XB1, so I'm not saying PS4 is better at all. In fact, I'd love to have one as well. They're just soooo expensive!

Why do we still get these articles about which one is better? They been out a year now do when need to redo this over and over? With that said there should be a long list of of things to compare for each console. Which has better hardware? Which has more current gen games? Which has access to more games? Which company has better customer service? Since they been out a year now which has sold more? And there are many more question that could be asked and compared. I have my issues with MS so I won't be buying an xbox product from them. Don't believe in there business philosophy or the nickel and dime approach they use as well. Proprietary hard drives and play-n-charge for the controller(even though you could use your own batteries) last gen. This gen they are back to the same shit with the controller accessories for the headsets to work and yet again a play-n-charge kit. Forcing you to pay more than you have to for certain things in hoping you'll buy their proprietary crap. PS4 controller has more technology in it than xbox one's and yet they cost the same price. There's no way the xbox controller should cost the same, but you end up paying more in the end for their controller.

BUT neither choice is wrong for these consoles so get what you like and don't condescend others for their choice as they have the same love as your toward a common hobby.

I own a PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. PS4's for multiplats and exclusives, Xbox One's for exclusives only, and Wii U's for exclusives only.

In order from most playtime to least playtime for me, it's:

1. PS4
2. Wii U
3. Xbox One

This is the best setup IMO because I support a healthy, competitive market and I benefit as the consumer because I get more gaming experiences than someone who confines themselves to one platform. I can't wait for E3 this year because it's going to be the first year I've owned systems from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo concurrently. So knowing that I'll get to play literally every game that's revealed and not have to miss out on anything is an awesome realization.
