Why aren't developers taking notice that fan made games are showing up some "triple A" titles? Games like this and hyper make me wonder why even release things like raging blast or battle of z. The first Budokai and the first Tenkaichi were good. But look at hyper... I wish those guy's had a bigger budget and the ability to release on x1 &ps4. In general I find myself being underwhelmed by some of the larger studios have been more attracted to the smaller vigilante devs that just make what they(and all the fans) actually want.

this looks nothing short of amazing, i slight graphic bump in textures and maybe a little overhaul of hokus character model, something just feels off about his face and neck, i'd love to see this get full support and a release on consoles as well, ugh, it'll never happen but a guy could dream right?

Finally a DB game I actually WANT to play. Throw in some multiman battle or team play i'm sold

It looks good for a fanmade game but honestly they should have spent their time working on a new IP because they can never profit of off this and Xenoverse is better so I don't think it will have much of an audience either.

ESF has been around for years. Far before the first Budokai games. I remember playing the mod back in the same days of CS 1.6; to see how far they've come - It's bringing a tear to my eye.

damn all these years and it still doesn't look as good as real dragon ball games. They really should just focus on a new IP. Maybe even inspired by dragon ball. Make it a knock off or something. At least they would be able to profit that way.

Source was a very versatile game engine, wish valve would just shock back to life and release the new source engine already, real funding behind this would turn this project from a kioken x10 to a SSG project

ESF is using the HL1 engine, game has come a long way since its first alpha release, amazing they still working on it

Used to play this back in HS - took so long to get the mod, since slow Internet and lack of fast mirrors to leech off of.

Otaku Dome:

For the last few decades a growing trend has been fans of either a licensed property or video game franchise stepping up to make their own ideal vision of a video game based in said property’s universe. These games are either original storylines or follow the canon of the respective universe, however watching these rookie game developers and the process of fan-made games as a whole grow has been an amazing ride.
