Ghost Recon: Wildlands Sells an Estimated 1.62 Million Units First Week at Retail

The open world tactical shooter from Ubisoft - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands - sold 1,623,743 units first week at retail on consoles, according to estimates. First week sales can be viewed on the VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending March 11.

Breaking down the sales by platform, the game sold best on the PlayStation 4 with 1,079,228 units sold (66%), compared to 544,515 units sold on the Xbox One (34%).

Even COD, SW BF didn't sell 10 million on PC. That's over 125 million Steam users and where are all these 8-10 million sellers? Not seeing any games that outsold Uncharted on PC. GTA V is the only one that I can think of that could even say they moved this much sales on PC.

GTA V has easily done OVER 1 billion in revenue on consoles.

Also GTA 4, San Andreas, Vice City.

Black Ops 1,2 and 3 also.

That's about 7 games that moved 15-20 million units and moved over $1 Billion.

Moronic N4G comments aside, that's actually good numbers. In the UK it has been in the top 5 most sold games since launch as well so I would assume 2 million has been surpassed. I really enjoyed this game (on PC) and hope they stick with the formula (with some revisions) for the next Ghost Recon game.

Persona 5 already did 1.5 million if I remember correctly. That is pretty great for that game and I think these are the best figures for any persona game. Maybe it can reach 2.5-3 million lifetime sales. It'll be awesome if that happens.

Nowhere in this article does it mention Horizon Zero Dawn. No clue how that's all anyone is even talking about, but it is. Horizon is an amazing game and achievement, but again, fanboys introduce something completely off topic to push their agenda. Same with politics. That game had it's issues, but I enjoyed it more than most reviews. I actually liked the simplicity of it. It was a great game to mindlessly play while watching TV or something. I'd be excited about a 2nd one. If they just tighten up a few little things in the gameplay (like adding the ability to scout from a Helo) it'd be a really really good game. This is a game that the extra power of Scorpio would really benefit, esp in terms of draw distance (it would also be awesome if they used that extra power to add things like the ability to use a fast moving Predator to track convoys or an AC-130...obviously limitedly).

My buddy brought his copy over for PS4. I don't normally play shooters, but this was ok. I mean, I still wouldn't buy it, and it has all the regular Ubisoft tropes, and the map is way too freaking big and empty, but it was ok. Solid 70ish game and if you like shooters, you should like it.
