Every companies sends out hardware, unless is specified that they're being paid then websites usually do it for free because they know people will click on it. The Vita's hardware and OLED panel was praised day 1, it was its biggest selling point and everyone admitted it looked fantastic so i fail to the point, the Vita's issues had nothing to do with that side of it.

They're not remotely comparable.

Ignore the PR

Apple charges you more because they spend a ton of money of R&D and have software updates for products like there phones for 5+ years compared to just 1-2 years on android depending on the brand. They're now making their own chips, the M1 is a phenomenal chip that can match and outperform offering from AMD/Intel while unplugged and in a fanless design ect. That doesn't mean every product they&...

I just Googled several variants of “PS5 SSD hard to install” and nothing came up, just regular guilds so who exactly
Is “everyone”? I know Forbes had something like that last year buts all I saw.

Sony said the PS3 would be capable of doing 120 fps and Mark Cerny said the PS4 had "supercharged PC architecture" with others like Avalanche/Epic games calling it a high end PC. It's all marketing, if you can get a level like A Crack in the Slab from Dishonored 2 which renders two levels at the same time or the time travel mission from Titanfall 2 running on regular slow HDD's then i'm sure Ratchet and Clank can run just fine on a SSD.

This isn't the first time it's happened, they've apparently had issues with other games in the past: https://forums.evga.com/Fix...

There is supposed to be safeguards in place to prevent cards from doing this, it also seems to only be affecting EVGA RTX 3090's, not other brands/cards. EVGA probably overlooked something and will replace them, i can't see Amazon being held accountable if no one else is having problems.

Blacklist was a terrific game minus the lack of Ironside but it unfortunately didn't sell the best, shame pretty much all of Ubisofts biggest sellers are those generic open world games.

"Fanboys defended Nintendo saying they couldn't deliver something as powerful as the steam deck in a handheld but here we are now."

Who said this? The Steam Deck costs more and is over double the weight/size, pretty sure everyone would agree that something with those differences should expect it to be more powerful lol.

Nobody is saying Steam isn't mainstream, again that doesn't inherently mean this hardware will be a massive success, people who use Steam already have a PC they're playing on and this isn't going to be an upgrade spec wise for most people based on hardware survey lists, it'll be a sub group of the user base and other groups like those looking at gaming laptop alternatives ect.

Nintendo chose to make a slim/sleek console that's light but had to underclock the hardware quite a bit so it could have decent battery life & thermals in that form factor, they could easily make something the size of the Steam deck which is over double the weight that would make full use of the current Tegra chip with a sizable performance boost but that's not really the appeal to the average consumer if they sales are any indication.

The only real threat to Ni...

Selling hardware is not the same as having a large community for a free service that can be put on any computer, it just mean PC gaming is popular as a whole. I have the top of the line model reserved because i love stuff like this and can see if it has issues with the Q1 base models but i can't pretend that it will be a sure fire success, right now it is a niche market that no ones really dived into it outside some smaller companies, it is an unproven hardware market.

I love that they did reservations, I'd rather wait an extra month or two instead of contentiously hitting refresh on newly announced stock which sells out in seconds.

Both Zelda/Mario are highly acclaimed by fans/media and both sold over 20 million units each, it's not going to matter to the average consumer if a PC based handheld has a bunch of quirky games because the entry cost is a lot higher and there isn't any marketing. The biggest selling point of this system is to existing users who have a library of games already, it'll be interesting to see how well it does but i wouldn't expect it to do anything like the Switch has been doing.

They're giving Steam users that have purchased a game before June the ability to preorder it first for 48 hours to combat scalpers, i hope more companies try this.

To keep the price down they had to skimp out somewhere, there is a reason the best phones on the market cost well over $700+ and Laptops cost more than the desktop equivalent. The smaller the device the more it costs, it's not a matter of a company trying to screw over consumers, you look at other powerful handheld PC systems it's no different.

1027d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

The price is great but PC games are quite large, the base model is really only good if you plan on playing smaller or older games, the 256gb model here in Canada is $659 which is really the minimum if you're doing AAA games.
