This is seriously one of the worst reviews I have ever read, in 26 years of gaming. This guy is an insult to journalism and clearly only has a site so he can get games early and free.

I'll be clear, I don't care about the score. Its a 7, big deal, I couldn't care less. What bothers me is that this review explains virtually nothing about the game. There is no mention of the intricate world building, the fantasy setting, or the joy of sinking in to a fully fleshed ...

Maybe this so-say 'flamboyance' is nothing more than a way for someone to say "This is me, this is what I am, f*ck you if you don't like it". And why not? How is it different from a goth dressing in black, or a punk with a mohican? Everyone communicates who they are and what they are through non-verbal cues. And I'm not comparing being gay to a 'lifestyle choice'. Its merely analogous. Think about how overtly heterosexual you probably make yourself out to be,...

Clearly a lot of people on here live in some cuckoo-land where everyone is accepted for what they are and nobody is ever discriminated against. That is not reality - gay people face discrimination on a daily basis (not all, but a lot) and, as another contributor has made clear, feel pressured to hide who they are to make others feel more comfortable.
So why the hell not have a gay gamer convention, where gay gamers will know they can truly be themselves without fear of reprisal? Bec...

Yeah, I remember when there was a store in the Galleries, then TWO more right outside, two doors down from each other, yet another branch in Debenhams, plus the big one out at Cribbs. Seriously crazy!

Shopto shops would be awesome! Cos then I could stop using their AWFUL website.

Yup, I managed to get Skyrim (normal price £42) for £5 in GAME when I traded in Batman: Arkham City. Considering I only paid £30 for Batman at Tesco, I basically played two top tier games for £35.
However, its not something I like doing too often cos it takes money out of the pockets of the developers. I keep most of my games nowadays.

To all the Americans who have no knowledge or interest in affairs beyond their own borders (way to reaffirm a national stereotype BTW - I bet none of you have passports either), the GAME/Gamestation group is the only dedicated games chain in the UK, and they also have stores elsewhere in the world.

So if they close, that means no more dedicated game stores other than the indie stores. Which means the supermarkets will fill the void, prices will go up and the games industry i...

Family Guy was brilliantly subversive for its first 3-4 series, there was simply nothing else like it. The Simpsons had a similar spirit but wasn't as cutting or dark. Both shows have declined in recent years, though I would still rather watch a new FG over Simpsons any day. And it's not 'product placement', its just referencing popular culture. A helluva lot of shows do that. Though FG is very US-focused which means it suffers a bit overseas - I'm British and am sometimes...

Why is reviewing movies or books so different to reviewing games?? It's all critical analysis!!

Is it simply because you don't like the fact that their reviews are intelligent, articulate and, shock horror, actually CRITICAL of the games? In your view, it seems that every game should be given either an 8, 9 or 10.

Morons... Honestly I give up with this site, I just end up exasperated by all this thoughtless drivel.

Bethesda - hire this guy! That was seriously impressive!!!
There should be more moments like that in Skyrim, just every now and again sprinkle a little epicness in.
I agree this game was hampered by being on consoles too, even though I don't own a gaming PC and play this on 360.

They produce the most well-written, incisive reviews available. The magazine is aimed at adults, and most importantly its aimed at developers (the whole back section is dedicated to development scenes around the world and it carries job adverts for studios like Crytek every month). Its the most well respected magazine in the business. So, let me ask you, out of them and you, who do you think is more likely to be wrong?

Face it, Edge just rub gamers up the wrong way because ...

@Vortis: "I'm not sure where you get this American = Violence from "

You have to admit, America does have past form on railing against sexuality in the media - games, films, books, whatever - while huge amounts of violence is shown on TV and in cartoons (perhaps less so nowadays). It comes off as puritanical, and is probably explained partially by how religious America is, on the whole. Sex = bad according to Christians.

However, I agree tha...

@ The Killer
Well your name alone already suggests that you perceive violence as acceptable.
I like how yoy say 'not all violence is bad' but make no such admission for sex. Erm, how do you think you got here?! Your mum and your dad had sex and 9 months later out you popped.

Sex = love, happiness and general awesomeness.

Violence = pain, death and general crappiness.

Oh, and by the way - rape usually has NOTHIN...

Totally - it looks amazing, even though the gameplay isn't something I normally play or enjoy. JRPGs generally leave me cold, but the art style is so incredible I can't resist!

I notice there seems to be less and less discussion of The Last Guardian - where the frick has it gone?? It's half the reason I bought my PS3!!

I paid £13 for RAGE brand new yesterday from GAME, and I also managed to trade in Batman AC and get Skyrim for £5, considering I only paid £30 for Batman AC, I paid £35 (about $55) for BOTH games. Not bad.

Awesome shots, game looks amazing on PC! (I'm on xbox.)
Buuuuut - how is the Earth hanging in the sky in one of the shots??

See my comment above. Yeah the game is good, but lets get some perspective here people.

And maybe some food.

And a shower.

And some sunshine, huh? Don't want to be getting rickets now, do we?

Yup - I had backwards-flying dragons on 360 less than 9 hours ago. Plus he got stuck inside a mountain with just his wing poking out, flapping like mad. Stupid lizard.

Annoyingly it was just as I was seeing the Northern Lights for the first time (over 50 hours in!!). Having some stuttering backwards-flying dragon zooming around the sky like a mental Benny Hill kinda ruined what should have been an epic moment...
