Actually, it won't stop the pirates, because they have the means to crack anything and still get what they need off the disc.

The normal person is hurt in some cases, but they lack the means and know-how of the pirates.

The Pirates are slowed, but not stopped, and the normal comsumer loses his ability to legally copy the discs he buys. That's not good for the companies or the consumers, in the end.

Ironicly, most of the time, mature content is very childish. Look at Manhunt 2 for a recent example. It's rated M, but a larger proportion of 13-21 year old boys like that kind of thing than 21+. SMG is one of the great games ever, though, and, yet more 21+ people like it than 13-21 people, I would bet.

Harsh ratings are actually, most often, go to the more childish games. The games that are for everyone, like Zack & Wiki and Mario, are great without needed to make teen...

Why does Mario need a friend that is all about cursing, blood, and gore?

Last I checked, more adults than kids are enjoying Mario.

Anyone can win, but if Sony is going to win, they need to turn things around soon. We won't see fortunes shift after next year. It's not the late adopters that decide what games go where. If this keeps up, Sony will lose because they will lose support, and the Wii will win by gaining support.

Anyone can win, but the winner will be decided before the end of the generation.

They claim whatever is good at the moment. It annoys me, really, that for the last few weeks, they have claimed victory for the PS3 and said Japan was never going to go back to the Wii.

It's terrible fanboyism. Now, I'll give crdit where credit is due. All the consoles have their ups and downs.

I wonder how many PS3 fanboys will give credit where credit is due, though, and admit that they were wrong, the PS3 isn't keeping up with the Wii in Japan (brag about E...

No, the PS3 is still outselling the Wii, remember? It was the start of a shift and the Wii was never going to be back on top.

All the PS3 fanboys were claiming victory for the PS3 like they were for the PSP. No one forgot anything, because its about one week.

Unless you want them to point out the PS3 outsold the Wii for one month, which means it is outselling the Wii by a small margin 8% of the time, though earlier in the year, the Wii outsold the PS3 6:1 for t...

"disagree all you want ... all the Wii is proving is that cheap sells."

Then why does it sell on ebay?

5992d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Actually, there are a lot of good games comming for the Wii, and few of them are made by Nintendo.

I know not everyone is into No More Heroes or Fragile, but I think they'll be great. PS3 and 360 fanboys seem to be more into titles like Wii Music, though. But, hey, there's something for everyone!

This isn't about the grill..I mean PS3.

On another note, I wonder why I put people on my ignore list when, after people go there, I feel an urge to comment on everything they say by the time they reach there.

Just like Surfer Girl has nothing to gain from claiming Halo 3 will come to the PS3?

Making big claims makes you look important. Greenpeace needs to look important, because a lot of people don't even know they exist anymore. That they can blast a popular company as evil because of lack of information (and on their messed up scale, as well, I might add) shows that they still exist, and that means they can try to rally some support and become noticed, again.

If the Wii is overpriced because its "old technology," why do you suggest a pencil and paper? It's a lot cheaper, but writing is a whole lot older, too!

Nintendo didn't know, 5 years ago, that Sony's next console would sell more slowly than the Gamecube in their first years.

However, they did learn something Sony did not, for some reason. In two generations, Sony won with the weakest, or, as you call it, "last gen" console.

Now, we know you hate Sony and Nintendo for combining to make the last gen consoles three generations in a row (2 from Sony, 1 from Nintendo), but you have to admit, it seems to wor...

The attach rates of the 360 do look a lot like an end-of-lifecycle trend, but this seems to be more due to the people who have a 360 buying a lot of games than the lack of console sales. The 360 console sales haven't been great, but they haven't been flat, either.

@socomnick

Only half right. Sony isn't a big deal to Americans anymore, but the Wii is the console of choice, now.

@Danja

Only half right, the rest of the world doesn't like the 360 (mostly), but the PS2, PSP, and PS3 aren't selling well in NA. They're selling, but not well.

That's fine, if that is how you feel about the Wii. I won't list the games comming up for it like I would on most threads, becasue that's not the point I was making, though.

Look at it this way. You are a nomral person who knows nothing of gaming, and you're going to do a little research on the consoles so you can buy one. Many people say the 360 melts. Many people say the PS3 has no games.

And people say the Wii doesn't have games that are as fresh as MSG4 o...

Yes, but I already have the Sony fanboys against me for quoting a certain part of an article that called an older version cell obsolete.

The last thing I need is the 360 fanboys after my bubbles as well for pointing out that more PS3 and Wii owners are buying games than you might think by the hard numbers.

5994d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Actually more than half of 360 owners have it, because it seems as if many 360 owners actually own more than one 360! This means the number of 360 owners is less than the number of 360s sold.

It's fair to calculat it, of course, by consoles sold, but we should remember that it's not quite the case most of the time.

I can't say I get it, myself, why Halo 3 has sold so much, but 360 owners must see something I don't.

Edit: @1.2

Red Steel? Rayman? RE4?

Only 3 million sellers for third parties in a year, at least assuming I didn't miss one.

The funny thing is that Red Steel wasn't even a good game, and it still sold a lot. Well, there's that and the fact that you act like number of million sellers makes a console important, when most games never even flirt with that mark on any console!

5994d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Everyone knows its not exactly right.

For it to be right, every console would have had to sell an exactly round number. Of course, even NPD is +/-5%, so even if you have exact numbers, they're not going to be right.

You wasted your bubble.

"What do they owe them?"

Maybe, if I am to buy a very expensive movie player, they owe ME answers. If they want consumers to buy something, why would they not explain things to us?

If they are afraid of a head to head debate, and back out, that tells me that there is something they don't want me to know. I won't buy into a format that seems to have something to hide.

They owe HD DVD nothing, but they owe me, the consumer, a lot.
