As a long time gamer and staunch Xbox supporter I say congratulations Sony, you've won my support !! Mindboggling to consider how badly Microsoft has bungled the launch of Xbox One !
@ Rezka Agreed, seriously other than a few live sports events we barely watch cable anymore. What a brilliant idea!
Seriously I've been a huge Xbox supporter and I don't buy into this second gpu fantasy.I wish it were true but it is what it is.I've dug through enough forums on this subject to know that the system bandwidth wouldn't support such a configuration. Thats why they chose the gpu they did so the system wouldn't have any stalls or bottlenecks.
I don't know how Microsoft is going to spin this. They're marketing it as an all in one entertainment device but...
I have to mostly agree with the article and the perception that the PS3 is a better value.Of course there are many intangibles that can be weighed but the informed consumer will likely concede that the PS3 has a bit more to offer.I think that both the Wii and 360 would have to be at a significantly lower price to sway their buying decision.
I'm a 360 owner and really enjoy the system but Sony is definitely starting to win me over. For me the Blueray and minor graphical difference...
I bought the Linksys adaptor for a very reasonable 50$ at Walmart. It was easy to get it up and running and it works perfectly.
This is great news to Rare fans.I just hope they return the series to its traditional roots and use Kazooie in creative ways.I didn't mind the lastest installment but the vehicle creation got old fast and didn't really add much to the gameplay.Still have high hopes for Rare to return to form though.
To answer the question..no it doesn't really matter in the slightest. It only matters to fanbois for bragging rights.99% of the titles are pretty close on both systems and both produce some pretty sweet graphics.PS3 may have a few first party titles that outshine the 360 but what are we talking about 3 or 4 games people.
Sad and troubling times for Sony but they will rise up once again.Even though I'm an X360 owner I wouldn't want Sony and the PS3 to go away. The competitiveness of these 2 companies is why were seeing such great games. We the gamers are the benefactors.Look at EA with the Madden series,no competition, so little innovation or effort.
An interesting analysis.I was frankly pretty surprised that the PS3 had so many highly rated games.Hard to argue with the facts though.I might have to reconsider having one in the near future.I hope a price drop might happen next year.
I'm kinda pissed about this issue myself.Accidents can happen, and when my 6 year old nephew bumped my console, my Gears of War 2 would no longer play.I'm sure Microsoft could have and should have fixed this fault.
This had to be one of the dumbest moves made in Microsoft's console history. They could have funded a whole new exclusive game for that kind of $.Are these types of games even relevant anymore, they are starting to all feel and play the same to me.They will never recoup their investment in this content.First of all their wasted investment in Too Human and now this.Someone at Microsoft should be held accountable for some very bad judgment. With all the third party cross platform development they...
While I have to agree with the analysts somewhat, the 360 will have difficulty penetrating the mainstream in Europe. However sales in North American continue to be very strong.Last time I checked at Walmart,Bestbuy the console was soldout again. With Gears 2,Fable 2 and a few other strong titles slated for a fall release I expect another big year for the system !
Both games look good and pretty similar. They both look like a videogame and wouldn't fool anyone into thinking it was photo realistic.People should stop their moaning,if you enjoy each game on it's respective system who really cares about some trivial differences.I thought this was the supposed to be the gamer's zone.
I think she makes some good and valid points about the issues of reliability and the public's perception on this.Obviously Microsoft has not fixed this issue to the extent of confidence in the consumer. They need to address this convincingly and conclusively. As well as take care of the customers they have disappointed and alienated.
A she points out the system does have some great strengths in terms of it's total package.Great software library,Xbox Live,Arcade and achievements.The...
I have to confess, even as an xbox 360 owner this is an exciting and diverse lineup.I just shake my head and wonder how Sony is able to pull off all these exclusives and sign all these developers.I mean they go out and acquire Evolution..thats just smart business sense.I'm even a little angry with Microsoft they lose a couple exclusive developers, haven't got anything else to show at all but their worthless investment in Rare.I mean I understand there not really interested in acquiring studios...
This is nothing but some fanboy's biased opinion and not a very intelligent one at that. The penetration of the High Definition market will be insignificant compared to regular dvds.No one really cares a whole lot about Blue Ray or reinvesting in another DVD library.
The content will always drive sales on any games system. If as some have suggested that many have purchased the PS3 as a cheap Blue Ray player then ultimately that takes dollars away from their games sales.Wouldn't i...
I get so tired of these comments on the 360's dead, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth. The last time I looked at the local EB Games and Walmart they were completely sold out of them. The only systems left on the shelves were PS3.The 360 is just hitting it's stride and will be a major player for years to come.Sure Sony has a nice lineup for 2008 on paper but lets wait and see how the games actually turn out before declaring a victory.Square would do some excellent numbers on the 360 wi...
One week of good sales means little in the long term picture. But obviously he wants to put a positive spin on this, that's what he gets payed to do.All I can say is dream on.Because of the strong sales of the Wii and 360 there is no way this could ever be the case, unless gamers had enough $ to shell out for multiple systems. My estimate is they hit about half their PS 2 sales 50-60 million.
Of course there going to hype it up,they invested millions of dollars in it.What would you expect them to do hide it under a veil of secrecy and quietly release it to retailers.Other than that PC dork everyone loves this game.
Wow their generosity never ceases to amaze me ! :)
