where is my mind?

I’m as much of a PlayStation fan as anyone else, but my basic understanding is that the series x IS technically the stronger machine. I can’t help but wonder why a previously-exclusive game runs better on weaker hardware. It’s not like it began as a multi platform title where install base was a consideration when allocating resources to versions of the game.

I get that DF usually has one foot in the Xbox camp though. They’ve always been like that and it’s definitely a litt...

I personally agree. As a kid I appreciated wacky, edgy styling of games like GTA5, but over the years I’ve come to love grittier games with a slower pace. I find the writing in most GTA games is just ok, but that it does best when the narrative isn’t chock full of parodies and other jokes usually don’t make me laugh. I think most characters in 4 felt fairly grounded and identifiable. On the other hand I felt like GTA5 reeeaally wanted me to notice that every side character was a parody. Like,...

I loved the original series when I played it as a teenager. Having revisited the games as an adult though, I felt like most of the narrative was nonsense tbh. The few moments where kratos showed remorse or restraint were so inconsistent. I remember by the 3rd game, I was really, really happy with the ending.

YES. Almost bought this game so many times on switch. I am beyond stoked to be able to platinum 3.

Right, but you pirate those games. I have everything that my computer/modded consoles can handle downloaded as well, but that’s no argument against PSNow. Do you expect Sony to give you their own games for free just because?

I’m not a big trophy hunter, but if any of these ps1/ps2 games actually get trophy support, it’s game over on ps5 releases for me. That, along with any sort of upscaling/improvements to these older games, would add the most value to me personally.
Just imagine being able to replay all of your favorite games inside and out, with the legitimate justification of “trophy hunting”.

Because first and foremost, I love the SNES and PS2 eras way too much to admit one of the 3 HD console generations was actually my favorite.
Secondly I think that the ps360 gen also laid the groundwork for a lot of elements in gaming that I can’t stand these days. Online only games, releasing half finished games and charging for the rest as DLC, etc.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my “gaming days” during the ps3/360 era and as much as I hate to admit it, this was actually my favorite generation of consoles by far. Every damn game was just such a banger. Online functionality was literally all I could ever want in a system and the graphics went from “great” (ps2) to God-tier. Consider all the upscaled “collections” games we had available at like $40 a pop. I used to be such a Sony fanboy way back then, but mannn I owned 2 360s over those ye...

Lol, I love it! I wouldn’t think the console is made to be used in regular play but as a show piece its just too wild to ignore. Would love to get my hands on one of the controllers and display it somewhere lol

Thanks solely to the plethora of low-iq resellers, the ps vita along with many other systems, definitely arent worth the money in terms of current street value. There was a time where you can get a great deal on a vita for less than $100 via eBay. I believe GameStop had them on sale one Black Friday for around $80. it was the same year that they were selling wiis for about $20, and literally giving away 360s for free after rebate. These days every “flipper” with an eBay account wants no less ...

Maybe it was because the ps4s navigation was so near-perfect that I still haven’t shaken the habit, but I totally agree. Simply closing out of a game on ps5 is a learning process each time. Similar situation with powering down the console: why does holding down the PlayStation button no longer bring up power-down options? In fact, why does holding down the home button on the menu do nothing at all? Every system I can think of with a home button brings up power-down options with a long press. ...

Proud Wii U owner here.

While I think the machine itself ended up being worth my time (it’s an amazing emulation/retro library device), I wouldn’t say that it was “underrated” in its standard capacity. The games just weren’t there. After I had hacked it however, it ended up being essential to my setup.
I still play it on a regular basis and recently beat NFS underground, Def Jam Fight for NY and SSX tricky. Next retro-revisit is a tossup between timespliters 2 an...

Now this is the type of developer support that I love to see. They took the time and released the gams as it should have been on the higher powered consoles, then went back to the drawing board to compensate for lower end hardware.

If Nintendo gave half a you-know-what about its 3rd party support, they would push this game as hard as they could to encourage developers to follow suit.

I really didn’t like the fact that during the presentation, they went over all of the preorder bonuses and special editions before actually showing gameplay.

That much I agree with. As a ps5 user myself, even I “knew” that the series x was a step above the ps5 in terms of performance. Remember when We all argued about it for MONTHS?

Well, Now that the Xbox is here, I’m still waiting to see the show piece from Microsoft that will surely make me regret buying my ps5. So far, aside from a few toss ups between the two, I haven’t seen or heard of anything from their end that is even remotely as enticing as the residual hype I still ...

I barely notice any differences in either direction with the ps5/SX. There may be some subtitle differences in specific instances but that seems about as close as you would expect between 2 platforms. Appreciate the effort put into the video of course, but this wasn’t the easiest comparison to pick apart.

Side note: the transition between modes made for way too much to try to take note.

Stop talking. Things like game sharing and swapping accounts for various reasons has been a part of Sony’s consoles since the early day’s of the ps3. Even the switch allows for workarounds to swap titles between 2 consoles. Console manufacturers could easily put out updates to ban that sort of behavior if they wanted to, but it’s something they let slide and otherwise don’t acknowledge as an issue. Stop being so bitter just because you don’t take part personally.
