Wonder why they released the E3 demo on the PSN. That might lower player expectations as to the final product. I know it states E3 on the download, but do people that don't follow gaming news know things were brought up to a higher level?

I've always thought demos in general did more damage than good. GoW is a game that doesn't really need a demo.

Back in the 90's when I was fresh out of college and excited about working (so many, many years ago :) ) I toyed with working at a game company and even interviewed with Monolith. The job offer as a developer was about a 1/3 salary cut from what I was currently making as a developer outside of the gaming industry. I seriously toiled over the decision because like many here I was passionate about games and trying to justify in my mind a pay cut to work in an industry that I loved. I wound ...

Can't have a list like that without Pac Man or Tetris.

It may be great, just not sure if it will have great sales. Dead Space is the closest comparison I can think of. A highly polished, AAA horror title and the sales of Dead Space were middle of the road. Alan Wake has half the audience of Dead Space to try and capture.

There's alot of talk how Dante's Inferno apes GoW and I agree, however if you compare 2 FPS's side by side they differ in very few ways other then setting, even down to the same button layouts. Sure, the race seems to be better graphics, better story, more of everything, but the same core is built into all of them. Publishers want to take the same formula and add one element to distinguish themselves and call it a day.

It doesn't happen with every game. the games to look for are games that have been out for a short time (about 6 months) and didn't sell well, so the price drops quickly. Then you have to compare the Gamefly keep it price and find out what Gamestop is paying before pulling the trigger (or sell it on ebay or whatever you want to do with it).

Capcom really shouldn't have said anything about it. Now their first batch of DLC will come into question as to whether people are paying for content that was cut from the main game that they already paid for.

I discovered an interesting little loophole if you have Gamefly. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while it will. I rented Call of Juarez Bound in Blood and the keep it price was $8.00. Using my 10% off and $5.00 discount, the game cost me about $4.00 after taxes (free shipping). I finished it and took it to Gamestop and they gave me $12.00 for it. Had I finished it about 2 weeks earlier, it was $15.00. Not a ton of money, but pretty strange to actually make money off a game....

No, the graphics were more on par with GOW II. It did have some good cutscenes.

I think he was more relieved that DI was just mediocre. I finished DI not an hour ago and the game was enjoyable, but nothing memorable. They could have done alot more with the Underworld then they did. I'm thinking it was always planned to come out right before GOW III to capitalize on the GOW hype, but had to come before or it wouldn't sell.

Right, redsqwad, I know exactly what you mean.

...it's a joke, don't shoot me.

Did I read that right? It would take 3 to 4 times longer than the 3.5 years to make FFXIII to reproduce FFVII? That means it would take 10.5 to 14 years to remake? Maybe there was a translation problem.

I like Panda Bears, but China won't sell me one or allow one to be sold to me here in the US. I've looked in the woods and at Target, but they just aren't available. I'm sure I can find a website that will steal one for me. If they were available locally, I wouldn't have been forced to steal one. It's not my fault, it's Chinas for not willingly accepting my hard earned money for something I want. Bad China bad

When I think of this game I keep coming back to Dead Space as the closest compare. Dead Space was a quality horror title, made by a quality studio that had some good backing and marketing by EA. It got great reviews by fans and critics. However, EA wasn't thrilled with the sales numbers. What does Alan Wake bring to that table that would generate more sales then Dead Space? Even if Alan Wake is a great game with great reviews, it has 1/2 as many potential customers as Dead Space. Dead S...

I know there is chatter about how similar the gameplay and mechanics are, but people aren't actively claiming a copyright infringement. Sounds like the author had a column he wanted to write and found an argument to justify it.

I'd be curious to see what QD could do with motion controls for a game like Heavy Rain, whether that is Natal, Arc or both.

Cool. There's alot of talent up in the great white north.

Is Spongebob made in Canada? It's for my kids, I don't watch it... never, not ever... not even once (or twice).

Canada has a very proactive government in attracting booming businesses to their country by offering incentives and tax breaks. They did it with the movie industry and the gaming industry while other nations stood aside and let the jobs and talent flow west (and north).

Now they got the Olympics for corns sake. What's to stop this great white juggernaut of the North?

Interesting but totally off topic fact I learned about Canada watching the Olympics: About 90% of ...

Henry Hatsworth was a fantastic game, but the difficulty can be off putting if you aren't a die hard platformer.

"Take March for example, with God of War 3, Battlefield, Final Fantasy XIII and even Pokemon, that's a lot for one person"

Do you need to buy all these games in March? Wait 6 months or a year and the games will be a fraction of their original cost, or you could even rent them. I can understand the argument for getting a multiplayer game right away to join in the community, but 3 of these 4 games are all single player.

Using Gamefly, I rented Call of Juare...
