Although I am sure Justin is a talented and nice guy - in my view he damaged Uncharted 3 with some choices that personally didn't work for me. Compared to UC2 there was just some magic missing and I suspect UC3 missed the full teams attention. Good luck to the guy :)

Gran Turismo lost its magic along time ago in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed and owned all the previous instalments. However, having the same tyre screech from PS1 is not acceptable, also quantity of cars doesn't mean quality. I'd be much happier with a supremely polished version of GT7 with only 100 cars.
I am expecting big things from there next instalment.

I buy a game to play it not to have someone complete for me because I don't have time.I find it funny people don't have the "time" to play a portion of a game when they have time to play the single player! Maybe games companies should complete the single player for you as well? I think not! I think what would be more practical is double XP or triple XP or even in game money bonus weekends which wouldn't cost you a cent!
I had to buy the digital version as overkill messed up shipments for physical discs so there was a super short supply for 2 weeks after release. I'd be interested if this affected the distribution figures some what?

Surely there are studies and strong historical evidence to suggest violence is caused by broken families, poverty, oppression and religion. Do I have to comment on this hugely biased article? No I guess not, but then again it is based on opinions and assumptions. So perhaps we can assume some people are more easily influenced than others?
The fooling will come when MS decide to change the terms & conditions of using the XBOXone which potentially could go back to the original plan. All MS are doing at the moment are reducing Sony's clear competitive advantage.
The bigger picture is choice for the consumer! PC games have always historically been cheaper whether physical or digital. There is no evidence on consoles to suggest moving to digital would save us money as if choice is removed any price can be set. If MS really wanted this vision they would stick to their strategy at a cost of choice :)

I understand what you are saying completely although I believe the terminology of ecosystem is just another business buzz theory that people tend to use without really going into too much depth. Your example is good and simple, although I'd add consumers buy Apple because they believe in a perceived quality, a philosophy, the Apple way etc... We could argue whether those consumers actually "need" the extra things of compatability etc.. as opposed to a want?

The analogy at the beginning is some what hyperbole! It's like ok these giant electronic companies have simply run out of ideas, for one I find this unbelievable. Talks about ecosystems is also misconceived as it is the wrong terminology to use as it requires early adopters to push the system into a product life cycle of where they can reduce costs so that the average consumer can see value or reason to make a purchase.
