Had to be a dualshockers 'article' with the exaggerated headline that attempts to tell people what to think.

A sequence mostly comprised of *waiting* is fantastic? Give me a break. These guys need to get more creative (and neutral) when devising their headlines.

*Shrugs* The way I look at it, Microsoft brought this upon themselves. Had they not put such a bad taste in everybody's mouth from the start, this probably wouldn't have happened. Companies should be looking for every reason to put a game on a particular console, but when they're given reasons not to do so...then that's a bad sign.

I don't feel bad for them at all.

That better not get announced before Starcraft.

Seems like that's about all this generation has amounted to so far - hype.

Should have seen it coming when all of our consoles are powered by a tablet based architecture, but oh well. Fool me once, shame on me.

Then when are you allowed to have an opinion? After you've wasted money on it?

"Literately" eh...

I guess the term 'literal' doesn't mean what it's supposed to anymore.

Called it. Third party exclusives are, for the most part, a thing of the past. The rule has now become the exception.

So in other words, MKX is for hardcore nerds?

Elitism among nerds. Nice.

Not that big of a deal. It's a safe bet that this will release on PS4 in some form or another, most likely as part of some "Definitive Collection" or "Enhanced Special Extended Collector's Edition".

That way, MS can have their cake and eat it to.

+1 for having standards. For far too many people, it's enough to have a fan favorite character simply exist, irrespective of quality.

It would have to be a niche downloadable title only.

If everyone wants the tunnel-style, on rails gameplay to make a return, then that's about the only way it would fly.

Love me some Crash, but kinda like Diablo, the gameplay style is a bit dated by today's standards. I'd buy it in a heartbeat though.

This doesn't debunk anything aside from the author's poorly constructed strawman arguments and false dichotomies.

There are so many more ways to look at the issue than the author would have us believe; his points aren't worth a thoughtful rebuttal themselves when you consider how narrow they are.

For example, on the issue of price, it isn't so much a matter of dollar amounts as it is the relative value to the individual. It doesn't parti...

That's not even remotely true. A demo is like a movie trailer; in fact, even moreso, in that it's how the publisher and dev studio advertises the game. For better or for worse, they should fully represent what the prospective consumer should expect from the finished product. Of course it isn't the full game, how could it be? What it is, however, is a small enough slice of the experience to aid the consumer in making the decision to purchase or not. By your logic, one can'...

So explain to us then, when are we officially allowed to express our dislike with something? Can't say anything based on screenshots (but you can say it looks great), can't say anything based on video (but you can say it looks fun), can't say anything based on testimonials (but you can say it sounds great), and now people can't say anything negative after having actual hands on time with the game. Unbelievable. It isn't fair that people like you expect everyone to either...

Basically, you're not allowed to have an opinion if it doesn't confirm people's pre-conceived notions. You never see the more positive preview reactions receive as much scrutiny as the neutral or negative ones. It's so hypocritical, and reveals the uglier side of video game fandom.

I'm sick and tired of fanboys doing their damnedest to discredit the opinions and impressions of people who don't agree with them. The funny thing is, they talk a good a ...

It's the job of the developers to put forth an accurate representation of the game with a demo, so any sort of impressions they receive are fair game. I don't understand why it's ok for you guys to gush unconditionally about a game that you also haven't played, but the rest of us aren't allowed to so much as say "I'll pass; doesn't look fun".

Making excuses is exactly what you're doing.

Should that come as any sort of surprise? Oh, but listen to the ignorant fanboys "WE WANT NEW CONSOLES IN THREE YEARS!!!" when it will likely start taking as much time to develop AAA games.

Well, love them or hate them, so-called insiders keep things interesting. That's more than I can say for a lot of these folks masquerading as journalists.

3641d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It isn't odd, because they usually originate from disingenuous 'journalists' who have something to gain from us feeding a faltering industry that they serve to gain from. If the author gave both points of view a fair shake then I'd be more willing to listen to his POV, but he's essentially trying to vilify the target audience of the gaming industry and tell us to 'suck it up and enjoy whatever you're given'.

Yeah, thanks for the input buddy,...

So in other words, we should accept whatever is thrown at us, is that it? Are you saying that developers and publishers shouldn't be held accountable, nor should they learn from past mistakes and try to mitigate this sort of thing before it happens?

Are we, the consumers really the only villains here for *gasp* setting our expectations by what we've been shown? Hate to burst your bubble, Abriael, but if I'm spending my money on these games, then I have ever righ...
