Hot Shots Golf 5 (PS3) sold 150 000 units in the first day. However, this EXCLUDES the 300 000 units PRE-ORDERED. So it's very good news for Sony Japan to have a "decent" system selling game (since it's not in the scale of FF or MGS, which can move millions of units).

It only works for PS1/PS2 games. I know my PS3 games don't show that setting option during gameplay, while for my PS2 games they do.

Does not cater exclusively to Microsoft. In fact, they did publish games for PS2 in the past.

On a more important note, the former Clover Studios doesn't have the right to make another Okami game. The Okami franchise was created through Clover Studios, which was fully owned by CAPCOM, and therefore the rights belong to CAPCOM instead.

Basically, CAPCOM can give the Okami sequel to another developer within the publisher's company (since all major publishers such...

Gran Turismo series IS a system-seller, and GT3 was one of the biggest reasons for people to buy a PS2 so early in its lifespan. Ever watched those GT3 ads in movie theatres? Those made a lot of jaws dropped back in 2000-2001. Every Gran Turismo has shipped over a million units AT LEAST, and it's one of Sony's biggest first-party franchises.

The good thing about the GT series is that it appeals to all the car fans out there. And trust me, there's a LOT of car fans, and GT5 wil...

I have been waiting FOREVER to finally see the shift from DVD to Blu-ray for Anime shows, movies, etc.

I believe they will probably, in order to maximize profits, release roughly 3-6 episodes per Blu-ray, but at insanely high quality.

However, I would personally love to see companies release lots of DVD-quality episodes on a single 50GB Blu-ray disc :D That would mean roughly 50-60 episodes per BD-50 disc. And that would be SWEET.

and the game looks pretty damn close to the CG trailer (or slightly better than COD 4), I will immediately pre-order Killzone PS3. And it will be the first game I will EVER pre-order :D

I remember reading about that exact same reason. SEGA claimed they didn't want to put online multiplayer because of lag and the fact that VF5 requires very precise timing. As a first-day owner of VF5 PS3, I feel extremely pissed off that they lied about this. If they DO release the online multiplayer as an add-on for PS3 via PSN, then they have to make it FREE, since PS3 gamers already paid full price and I definitely do not want to pay more than the 59.99 CDN (Full Price) that I paid initial...

since the multiplayer for Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS is great according to lots of my buddies who owns one, as well as my older brother. I've yet to hear a negative comment about the multiplayer for MP: Hunters. Clearly, they got it right on the DS, which uses a STYLUS to aim. So that's why a lot of people are criticizing Retro Studios and Nintendo for excluding multiplayer for the Metroid Prime 3. With the Wii nun-chuck controller, this HAD the potential to be an amazing first person &...

The specs are slightly better than the ORIGINAL Xbox, which isn't say much, and Nintendo did say months before teh Wii's launch that the coding for Wii was EXACTLY like the Gamecube. The only difference was a slight boost in power (about 2.5 times more powerful, overall, than the Gamecube). Remember that the first development kits for the Wii were a Gamecube dev console and a prototype Wii controller. So OF COURSE it will be easy for Retro Studios to program on the Wii. It IS essentially the ...

That's what the developers are pretty much hinting at! I seriously can't wait for this game ever since they first showed it.

I sure hope so Nicosia. I just don't want another Drakengard failure (which was also done by Square Enix).

What also scares about the quality of this game are some of the staff members on board for this particular game. Some people from The Bouncer and Unlimited Saga are contributing to the making of this game, which is a big no-no from me, since those games had AWFUL gameplay, but visually appealing graphics.

Square Enix's recently new games and franchises, such...

I have to absolutely agree with you on the concerns regarding Playstation HOME. There will no doubt be racist gamers who will take advantage of the HOME abilities, such as being able to stream racists videos, pictures, music, etc. online in an actual 3D way. This could become worse than this Forza Motorsport 2 issue, since people will actually be able to SEE racist materials from real-life as well.

However, unlike Microsoft, Sony has stated many times to many gaming websites (G...

Furthermore, by just allowing the racist comments to "roll off your back", you are merely encouraging these racist gamers to continue making these comments to you and OTHER players. You are, unintentionally, making the situation worse for the rest of the online community by allowing these racists, naive kids (and unfortunately, some teens and adults too) to continue spreading hateful and negative comments.

This is a major issue for all companies supporting an online...

Blackfrican is a naive user who seems to have forgotten his history lessons. If vehicles with "anime child porn" painted on them is worse than "pride a.k.a. racist" vehicles, then you are clearly not looking at the bigger picture. Tell me, which type of mindset is responsible for the death of millions of Africans, Chinese, South Americans, Native Americans, etc.? The ones with the racist mindset of course.

Of course, I'm also completely against child porn i...

This one, based on my observations, looks pretty poor compared to other RPGs using the Unreal Engine 3.0. Of course, I'm not just limiting this to Japanese UE3 RPGs, but American ones as well such as Mass Effect, which looks visually spectacular on the Xbox360. Based on a rumor several months ago, FF Versus XIII (not FF XIII, but the Tetsuya one) is said to now be using the Unreal Engine 3.0 instead of Square Enix's own White Engine. If this is true, then it will be interesting to see just ho...

It doesn't matter which section of the ign.com site you link the preview from, since the preview is written for one version, then placed under both sections. The images are also placed on both the PS3 and 360 section for a multi-plat game until the developers and publishers begin to specify which images belong to which version. Considering the lack of info at the moment for the Last Remnant, this is acceptable.

which was roughly translated, it claims that Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, at a business conference, wants to have Ken Kuturagi join Nintendo. If this is indeed true and not a miscommunication through translation, then they will most likely want to hire him for his highly sought after engineering and hardware design skills. He DID make the SNES music chip SECRETLY with Nintendo, after all, and nearly lost his job at Sony many years ago. This would be a very smart decision on Nintendo (or e...

As previous users have said, Hot Shots Golf series is published and owned by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) and it is VERY popular in Japan! Each version sells over 300 000 in less than a month (which is very impressive in Japan, and more so for a cartoonish golf game). Like Gundam Musou, Hot Shots Golf PS3 will probably boost console sales temporarily, then decline again (until the heavy hitters like MGS4, White Knight Story, and FFXIII are launched).

Actually, Nintendo sold at a low price BECAUSE they could. Remember, the specs for the Wii are slightly above Xbox, and by now the components are so cheap that Nintendo is actually MAKING money from hardware sales. Typically, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo lose money for every console sold in the first two years of console life, until the parts become cheaper to mass produce (e.g. Blu-ray Diodes are becoming cheaper to produce, hinting at a price drop).

This means Nintendo is act...

As much as Sony has improved in their online services from the PS2 era, they are many years behind Xbox Live. On a side note, Nintendo is even further behind than Sony. Microsoft started their online service at least four years ahead of Sony, and, in ALMOST any situation where one company has a head start over another for that many years, will be far more advanced in the online services. There will definitely be a gap when comparing Xbox Live and PSN.

Sure, the PSN is free, an...
