I don't know of any DS games or gameboy advance RPG's that did 3D well. Give me clean sprites over pixel filled 3D any day. I'm glad they waited for 3D until they had the hardware to actually do it right.
I think there will always be people that, no matter how much they are presented with, will always desire more. Your being presented with a brand new world wide release pokemon game with fully 3d graphics (people have been wanting this since the DS came out) amazing, revamped battle animations. What more do you want?

I certainly see where your coming from with the expectations. But Colosseum was essentially a glorified battle animator with a little bit of "story" and extras tagged on. These games are going to be fully realized RPG's with dozens of routes, new cities, new pokemon, new scripting etc.. I think it would be unreasonable to compare a tightly focused battle based game such as colosseum with a game that is using the 3DS cart memory capabilities (currently 2gb) for a...
