One I noticed on the list I was surprised about. Castlevania. Is this a different title to the one announced on the 360? I knew a next gen Castlevania was due but thought it was exclusive to the Xbox this time around.

I don't see them doing seperate games for each console but this is good news if true because a Castlevania game in some shape or form is heading to the PS3.

Well thats a nice list of games and it looks like maybe 18 exclusives that are scheduled for 2008 which at the moment sounds pretty good. All we need now is to see what 360 is going to offer and I 'm pretty sure since the console has been out longer, is easier to develop for and has high attach rates that it should see a huge amount of games for it but who knows! ANyways nice list and lets hope the 08 titles do get released in 08. None of us should get to ahead of ourselves until we are actually in 2008 to see what it looks like before we start claiming victory!

news flash: not everybody owns an X Box 360, so the fact that the multi-platform titles i named above are on the PS3 *PERIOD, is great for PS3 fans.

how many X Boxes sold last gen? 25 million?

how many Playstation 2s? 115 *MILLION, and *COUNTING?

how many of those 115 million PS2 owners do you think will upgrade to a Playstation 3 once the price is right? especially once the price drops down to under $250; coinciding with the fact that all the games on my list will have been released by that point. i'm not going to say that all 115million + will hop on board, but look at it this way; if games like Halo and Gears of War were really what PS2 fans wanted all along, don't you think they would have bought the original X Box, considering that it had, not one but *TWO Halo games on it?

the truth of the matter, is that the PS3 and the 360 *BOTH have some great games available, both exclusive and multi-platform.

the 360 has games like Gears, Halo 3, Bioshock, PGR and Forza, and Mass Effect. all worth a look if you like that type of game.

the PS3 has games like Unreal Tournament 3, Resistance, Uncharted, GT5 Prologue, Ratchet and Clank, and Heavenly Sword. all worth a look if you like that type of game.

my comment above was meant to be silly, but it obviously riled your feathers. sorry, but the numbers don't lie, and unless the 360 lands a game that PS2 fans just absolutely *MUST have, i don't see that 115 million crossing over.

remember: price is no longer an issue, as the PS3 is now *CHEAPER than the most expensive 360 unit, and a mere $50 *MORE than the standard, Premium 360 unit.

rumble is also no longer an issue, as the Dual Shock 3 is already available for import, and the US release is a few months away (probably March at the latest).

Blu Ray is winning the format war. for those gamers that are also movie buffs (such as myself), the PS3 has a built in Blu Ray drive, and the sheer number of exclusive studios supporting Blu Ray means more movies to enjoy for PS3 owning movie buff. not only that, the inclusion of Blu Ray isn't costing PS3 customers more anymore. and they don't have to feel like they're taking a risk by choosing a PS3, or Blu Ray. odds are, Blu Ray will win.

Sony has more first party studios than any other console manufacturer out there, including Nintendo. meaning more exclusive titles coming in the next year, and beyond.

and one last fact for the road: the Playstation 3, in it's first year, with a price tag upwards of $200 *MORE than it's competitors, has managed to keep pace with the X Box 360. in the first 12 months of release, the 360 sold roughly 7 million units. the Playstation 3, in it's first 12 months on the market, has sold roughly 7 million units.

what do you honestly *THINK is going to happen to the Playstation 3 next year, when Metal Gear Solid 4 hits?

oh yeah, and one more interesting fact: the X Box 360 is selling well in North America, and parts of the UK. it is selling *VERY poorly in Japan, but slightly better than the original X Box.

next year is going to be rather interesting, and i think all 3 consoles are doing remarkably well, but i'm not going to foolishly attack one or the other's game libraries by saying it has no games(well, maybe the Wii's), because the games don't appeal to me, personally.

i hate Gears of War and Halo 3, but i'm not going to ignore that they're system sellers, and that *LOTS of people like them.

Did ANYONE look at the list? About 20% look promising the others are either vaporware (not even being worked on, figment of someones idea), Arcade titles, and *cough* Japanese fodder (lived there 10 years, 95% of Japanese games are fodder). And anything that doesn't fall into that category will more then likely fall into the sub par fodder that Sony so loves to put out to it's lucky fans. In the past Sony has been good at allowing anyone to put a game on it's system, and I doubt that has changed much this generation. Yes, SEGA, MICROSOFT and NINTENDO are also guilty to some degree... BK games *cough*, but to a lesser degree then what Sony has allowed to be flooded on their previous systems.

Get over it, this list is laughable with but a few games worth mentioning, and even thoughs are doubtful to be actual exclusives when the time comes down to it.

Keep dreaming about the future. When it comes to games. Sony has never been one to deliver quality. They have pushed the quantity over quality at every chance. A few come that are memorable but even those few and far between are lacking and ran their course for the most part.

But hey, to those that think they will gain the attention of all their old PS2 fans... 50% of my Sony friends now own an XBox 360 and are loving it. The others... one has a PS3 and the others are still playing their PS2 systems. The PS3 owner just borrowed one of my XBox Original systems and is busy playing all my old games. (he owns 1 blueray movie and 2 games, Ressurection and Motorstorm)

The xbox 360 out sells the ps3 every month. NPD numbers don't lie just stupid fanboys. 360 has the highest game attach rate of all the consoles and will have the biggest titles of 2008. Good to see games coming their way. But I won't be jealous...well, maybe a little. I have my 360 and it's amazing lineup. Plus, I've got Mass Effect and Bioshock. Sorry even though by bro works for Microsoft and I owned the 360 first and built a 10 game library it started collecting dust when my 360 copy of COD4 gave me disk read errors right off the bat. Picked up a PS3 and another copy of COD4 for it and now the 360 just collects dust. Gonna unwrap UT3 tonight. PS3 lets you burn mp3 and save them toa memory card. 360, mp3's go it but never come out.
