GP: "As we reach the end of this console generation, a sad realization has dawned on me: a lot of our favorite characters have reached the ends to their respective stories. We simply may not be seeing them or their respective universes anymore. But as God of War: Ascension proves, the end of the story doesn't always mean an end to the series.
The ending of God of War 3 seemed pretty definitive; Kratos' story was over. But as we all know, a prequel was literally just announced for the Playstation 3. That got me thinking. What other games could get prequels? While there are a number of series ending this generation, there is always a piece of the story left untold. This list will consider four series that I believe could get prequels in the next few years."
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
Cultured Vultures: If you’ve got some feelings you want to dredge up all over again, or if spending more than 15 minutes on Twitter has caused you to become completely numb, these are the saddest video game moments that we will never forget.
Kingdom hearts was really sad at the end. The darkness when Jenny dies was shocking and sad
Mine have to be last of us, Joel's daughter. Maybe it hits different when you have kids vs bot. I'll throw ff7 up there to. On the verge of looking like some sort of love triangle then bam, death
I think Dom's wife's death in Gears 2 was sadder then Dom. Dom's death in Gears 3 just felt rushed.
This Canada Day, explore our homeland with the best video games that have adapted or reimagined the Great White North in digital form.
If they we're to make an InFAMOUS prequel, i think the main protagonist would be Kessler and the story would be about him against the first sons before he wen't back in time to prepare his other self.
I certainly wouldn't mind more MGS prequels, especially if Kojima is behind the helm. When you pass the IP off to another studio (in the casing of Revengeance with Platinum Games), I get worried.
I'd love to see a prequel to Heavenly Sword - something based on the bonus animated shorts. That way, Nariko can still be a playable character in a new game without having been "revived".
