The Max Payne series has always been able to succeed without an open world, hand-to-hand combat gameplay, or driving mechanics. The two previous games in the series were no-nonsense shooters, and they were all the better for it. One of the concerns bothering many gamers is the thought that Max Payne 3 may conform to a lot of today's hottest gameplay elements. According to Rockstar Games, the upoming title will be as true to the series' legacy as possible.

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.
Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.
Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima
Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.
Each one absolutely worth it.

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing
Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

One of the best soundtracks in gaming. This band is incredible and I’ve seen them live twice now. Absolutely fantastic band

The trailers certainly don't make it look that way, and not just because of the setting. Max Payne was always about purposefully overdone pulp noir, in line with something like Sin city.
This looks like it'll follow the same Rockstar storytelling that began with GTA4 and matured with Red dead redemption, which means it'll be full of characters with more dimensions than you're used to seeing in a videogame and will probably be one of the most mature confidently told stories we'll see in any game this year but I very much doubt it will be anything like the Max Payne we're used to, I'd bet decent money that this game will be more along the lines of gritty deep character dramas like No country for old men than the over the top pulpy noir melodrama we all know and love from Max Payne.
Edit - umm, I should point out I'm talking about the plot here and not the actual gameplay action.
Rockstar haven't disappointed me yet, so I look forward to playing their latest game.
