I sure hope so , heck I would buy a X720 just to play AW2.

Bolts4589d ago

I would buy a X720 just play to Angry Birds. This gen is starting to look like crap. When cell phones have as much memory as your counter top gaming machine it's time to move on.

Looking at titles such as Battlefield 3 running on PCs really drives home the idea that current console tech is painfully outdated at this stage.

Looks like we won't have long to wait for the next-gen to begin - thankfully! :)

Looks good

fluffydelusions4589d ago

I would too but it's too bad the majority of xbox owners don't feel the same way since the original didn't sell very well.

da_2pacalypse4589d ago

What do you expect from an exclusive sp game that was not even marketed well and released in the same week as Red Dead Redemption? even then, the game still sold pretty well for an exclusive. Over 1.5 million sold, hell that's just about as good as what most multiplatform games sell.

It's possible that gears 4, halo 5, fable 4 and the next alan wake could be launch titles for the neXtBox.

Wow.

SilleGamer4589d ago

@GusBricker

That would be one heck of a lineup!

Wikkid6664589d ago

Never would happen... they would never put Gears up against Halo.

Kran4589d ago

Well when its launch titles, they might.

Its like LBP and Uncharted.

Both are launch titles for Vita I think.

Wikkid6664589d ago

@Kran

1st Sony and MS are two very different companies.

2nd Comparing LBP and Uncharted to Gears and Halo is just crazy. LBP is a totally different game than Uncharted. Where Gears and Halo are both shooters.

3rd MS doesn't have the 1st party titles to throw them all into a launch. It is more likely be a 1,2 punch. Launch with Halo and then Gears the following fall.

wonder how the 720s going to look

RevXM4589d ago (Edited 4589d ago )

Yeah me too, not that I really care how the box looks like.

I mean It doesnt have to like like anything special if the design works and doesnt have any major faults.
But a sleek look wont hurt. :D

Im more interested in what they put inside, that it works and the UI and features. :P

And sweet games, Hopefully Ms will pull themselfes together and produce some solid titles on their next platform. Just cant to to it like they do to 360 now IMO. 2-3 exclusives a year? (apart from arcade and kinect games)

Talking about features...
MS Y U NO let me copy media/content from USB drive to HDD? seriously its dumb... (Insert *Y U NO MEME* here)

If this time its an open world game like Remedy promised back then ill be tempted to get the new xbox.

JellyJelly4589d ago

I actually think that the semi-open world approach fit Alan Wake very well.

e-p-ayeaH4589d ago

yes but an open world survival horror kinda game is something ive never experienced before.

JellyJelly4589d ago

Me neither. Could be really cool but I'm thinking it could also hurt the narrative.

Baddo_Ekkusuchi4589d ago

loved the concept of the first one but havent really had the time to finish it. a 2nd one would be nice

One Alan Wake 2 Detail Sticks Out Like a Sore Thumb

Alan Wake 2 is set in 2023, yet in Bright Falls and the Dark Place, there's a recurring element that feels somewhat anachronistic.

The thing that sticks out for me is no physical copy still

A haunted 4k OLED doesn't quite hit the same. Analog horror is a genre for a reason, they matry much better than digital and horror. Like which sounds better, a haunted VHS or a haunted PDF

You're spot on. Plus, having old technology is world-building. It immediately makes you question (even subconsciously) why an old television still exists there. It adds character and background in a subtle way. It is unsettling for the player, and attracts their attention in the best possible way because something about it isn't right.
