Marty Sliva writes: There's a moment in a select handful of games where things just... click. There's really no other word to describe it. Sometimes it happens early on within the first few minutes. Running around the front lawn of the castle in Super Mario 64 brought this moment to the forefront almost immediately. Other times you have to put in a solid day of playtime to reach this moment. Many RPGs don't click until you've leveled your characters and gained the freedom to explore the world as you see fit.
"Dark Souls: Archthrones is like playing a brand new FromSoftware game, and that speaks volumes about just how much good modding can do," says Hanzala from eXputer.
Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way. Why?
i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)
I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
TheGamer writes, "Some weapons resist the test of time."
I've been saying this since I first started playing Demon's Souls. Everyone I told this to would be like, "lol no it isn't."
I don't know, I'd call it a more difficult Zelda that's geared towards the adult audience and has stats and stuff.
I can't wait til Oct 4th
Many people can argue what the game is like. Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid, Zelda...all of which are great answers and certainly any game worthy enough to be mentioned with those CLASSIC (and I do mean CLASSIC) games is a true testement to the game.
For me (if Dark Souls is anything like Demon's Souls), the game captures that sense of wonder that I had when I was 11-13 playing video games.
That sense of discovery not for the sake of discovering something, but a sense of accomplishment that came with it. You fought the game and you beat it. Here is your reward. Not...oh hey...you got from Point A to Point B. Here is your XP for completing the quest.
A game that captures your mind long after you turn the game off.
Its games like these I still continue to play video games at all.
I Scheduled my vacation from work on oct 4th and 5th so I'm ready to go. Is this getting a midnight release?
