Namco Bandai have confirmed that Dark Souls will, in fact, not be receiving DLC...
The move brings its starting wage in line with Capcom, Atlus and Konami.
Better now than never! good work japan for making it a worthy endevour and career.
Check the western side and they just hired a lead director who fits their dei agenda who...doesn't like guns....for halo.
Based FromSoft.
It's kind of sad when the "Get gud" studio shows this kind of grace, but other companies that are more popular with less effort and higher profit margins are axing employees and blaming them.
Ubisoft as a publisher wonders why we hate them.
Because... Skill issue.
FromSoftware's balanced release cycle could keep hardcore fans satisfied while drawing in new players without losing its core identity.
"By offering games with different mechanics or themes, FromSoftware could attract more casual players who may not be interested in or able to handle the difficulty of its core titles. A game that focuses more on narrative and discovery rather than combat difficulty could draw in this group."
yeah no thanks. They have a specific style of making games and they don't compromise on it, that's what makes them so popular and now this guy is saying they should stop doing that and make the game for players who don't like their games. Also Souls games are very much based around discovery, except you don't get it shoved in your face like with every other game and that is refreshing and it has very much a narrative in the same way it does it's exploration, the 2 are linked with eachother so let's not have them make games that every other studio already does, it's not that hard to understand. This bs with the game needs to be for everyone is what's causing games to get worse, in turn the games will be made for no one because you want to please everyone.
I'm always down for developers trying new things. No dev should be stuck doing one type of game. I'd love for them to do more silly shit like metal wolf chaos or another action game like otogi. Try new things and maybe one or more of those new ideas blows up too and then you'd have even more money makers to work with instead of just relying on the one or 2 series you've been doing for decades
"FromSoftware has mostly developed action RPGs recently and has shown versatility with games like Armored Core"
Who wants to tell the journo?
Since the meteoric rise of FromSoftware, their patented gameplay has significantly influenced the action genre - perhaps to its detriment.
Lmao how tf? Its developers who are so afraid of branching that are hurting the action genre.
Strange decision :S as long as the game is good i dont really care
That's okay. Most companies are just selling $10 unlock codes because the DLC is on the disk.
So I prefer no DLC as opposed to getting ripped off.
DLC or no DLC? Fine. Talking about DLC - for any game - 3 months before the actual game is out? Out of order. 'Day 1 DLC' is the worst trend in games right now.
Thats kinda weak this game could benefit from DLC if done right. Maybe that means the team will have their hands full working on Dark Souls 2 or the successor after launch.
I find this positive. Now we get the whole package!
