Ubisoft has confirmed that the PC version of Driver: San Francisco requires constant Internet connection to play.
idiots, ubi never learn
I confirm i wont be buying it either lol too many better games to invest my time in.
... it just means the cracked pirated version, which will probably be released within days, and won't require constant internet connection, will be the better version to get. When I buy a game I don't want to put up with all kinds of crap like this.... I just want to install it, and enjoy it.
Sad state of affairs that they haven't learned this is self-defeating and anti-legit consumer. Stupidity at its best. Or perhaps we should say stUBIdity...
What's the logic behind this? Stupid.
Good thing I like Dirt3.. DOn't want this anyway.. And Driver is so creative! If you die you get spirit travel into other cars! LAME!
I thought they were done with this crap...
this has to be mistake they said that due to poor sales that they would not do this anymore.
They won't stop i bet AC revelations will have this
Ah, as always there will be a way to "fix" this :D. I don't care what anyone says if you want to play a game you paid for without an internet connection then not even the publisher should be aloud to stop you.
UBISOFT FTW! LOL. Nobody I know is interested in this game. It is not even gonna sell on PC anyway, why do this and piss 5(!) buying customers off?
Oh how I loved the original Driver. Spend hours on my Playstation trying to complete this game, unfortunately it seems the remakes we get in 2k11 is just terrible.
"2k11"? isnt it the same as just putting zero where the "k" is?
I don't know why I did it, probably because I read it somewhere recently. But yes, 2k(2000)11.
Driver 1 was epic, I literally poured hundreds of hours on it. Too bad everything sucks nowadays. Greedy companies.
I couldn't care less if they require it, I am still buying it. Looks fun to me..
I won't say any hippie-shit like "THEY TRY TO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS", however...when their masterserver overcrowds(won't happen due to poor sales probably) but let's say it does. You will be unable to play. If lightning strikes your house, you will be unable to play. It seems Ubisoft thinks this actually increases their sales, however - now they will just get even more pirated copies from all the mad customers that don't agree with this solution. This is a remake of an ancient gold kettle. Why would you put in DRM that can be bypassed by cracks a few weeks after launch and hurt a game that was once loved. I don't get it. People hate Activision, Ubisoft stinks even more.
Guys, if you are not 13 year old fanboys, that think everything going on in gaming is so great, but mature gamers and consumers,.. Check out this old gamer,.. He is 99 percent right about where this gaming industry is going to,..And this will get only worse for us gamers and consumers as time passes,.. And they will not stop. And PC-only gamers should not think that you are somehow immune to what all these publishers are doing. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
It's ubisoft there the same as EA when it comes to PC and they lost me as a fan curse you DRM!
Wow how stupid can these Ubi morons can get? They are now unofficially advocating piracy as the easier method to play their game.
well i was thinking about getting this one but I'm gonna pass now. My internet isn't very reliable unfortunately and I'd be pissed if I couldn't play an offline game with that happens.
Hmmm does UBI ever learn?
They no like piracy. Theyll still crack it anyway.
Are the motivating people to pirate a cracked version? What if my Internet goes down, or you plan to play on your laptop while out and about.
Their DRM sever will crash and they will say they got hacked... lol. Just like every time they launch a new game, takes about a week to get the bugs out so people can play without the game stopping every few minuits... just like the time when I tried their DRM on AC2. That is the last time I will ever buy a game from UBIshit... Oh well... lol :-)
and each news about driver doesn't make me intrested ... it's like each thing they annonce confirms my belief that it's just not the game for me ..
This is why spore became the most pirated game in 08
well there goes my interest
