Was Too Human Really Worth the Wait? Does it Deserve a Sequel?

TheParanoidGamer writes: "Silicon Knights was first founded in 1992 by Dennis Dyack. They’re known for making Blood Omen: The Legacy of Kain, and partial development of Metal Gear Sold: The Twin Snakes. More recently, they’re known for creating Too Human for the Xbox 360. It’s also probably the most famous game by them considering it took almost a decade to make and didn’t have the greatest response. After a decade did the expectations get too high or did Silicon Knights fail to deliver? Do they deserve to make a sequel?"

I sincerely enjoyed a few things in Too Human, but as a package it severely disappointed. I do hope they get a chance to create a sequel.

the_kutaragi_baka4688d ago (Edited 4688d ago )

Too human is a great game and i would be excited to see 2,the customization options are so much better than fable and so is the online co-op,i hope that if you can make 2,that you can make even more armor items and weapons.

Ravens204688d ago (Edited 4688d ago )

This is all I think about when I see Too Human, and that annoying song.

showtimefolks4688d ago (Edited 4688d ago )

on;y to see what the developers true vision was for the 1st game. and that's sad its nit like the devs didn't have enough time for 1st game

TH2 if done right could be a huge success and if it doesn't take another 10 years that would do the games and dev some justice

firemassacre4688d ago

it was one of the worst games this gen in my opinion, i do not think it deserves a sequel. it is universally accepted as a flop.

jimbone794686d ago

Really? You have a 360? Judging by your comments I wouldn't think you'd have one to try this game out, or did you "ply it at a friend’s house"?

Raines of Onyx4688d ago

I loved the gamplay in this game I hope they get to build on it.

Raines of Onyx4688d ago

Ya but it was a setup for a sequal lol

mastiffchild4688d ago

A first game should NEVER assume a sequel and has to be a self contained story imho-it smacks of arrogance to say "Trilogy" before anyone plays a thing.

Thing is, with TH, they took so long getting their act together and then Dyack pissed off THE WORLD with his nonsense that assuming a sequel on top of that was monumental idiocy and made them look beyond arrogant. Ten years for THAT and they expect a sequel to get financed??!! Seriously?

The saddest part is I STILL believe there's a decent game in there being strangled by the useless fluff. Streamline a lot of things and build on what worked and you MIGHT get a winner but so many people just hate the game now that you'd think they would be better making a sequel for a certain, earlier game instead, wouldn't you?t's what I hope anyway!!

NYC_Gamer4688d ago

the game was terrible and over hyped by the studio

RazzerRedux1403d ago

Fun fact: I'm one of five people to have completed Too Human and actually liked it. It should be noted that the other four ended up in mental institutions....sadly.

excaliburps1403d ago

I completed it and kinda liked it. Controls were iffy but overall, I dug it. Shame Dyack was crazy. xD

IanTH1403d ago

Glad to hear it! So, when did you get out of the institution?

Marquinho1402d ago

Too Human was "The Order: 1886" of the 360.

Nitrowolf21403d ago (Edited 1403d ago )

I have never played this, mostly because I didn't own an Xbox prior to a few months ago Def. will check this out

darthv721403d ago

It certainly has a cool story and its a good game. it was just marred by long development time and kind of egotistical creator.

Looper1403d ago

Hey!! I was told survivors had all signed an NDA! I'm telling!

Kribwalker1403d ago

i really liked this one too. Always wished for a sequel, but sadly i don’t see it in the cards

excaliburps1403d ago

Yeah, it had a solid story and game mechanics. I remember the controls weren't smartly implemented, and every time you respawned, the animation was so long.

Fantangoooo1403d ago

I can't count the number of times I finished this game gridding for gear. Weird control but I liked it

Neonridr1403d ago

sounds very Polybius to me..

Poopmist1403d ago

Me and my friend beat it so many times. I got the best armor mathematically possible in it. Great game imo but their needed to be more tutorials on how runes work. The one that spawns singularities upon hitting someone was cash.

DerfDerf1403d ago

I actually really enjoyed it.

RamRod881403d ago

I beat it too. The controls were weird, but once I got use to them it was okay. I found the story to be actually half decent. Too bad there wasn't a sequel because I really believe if they have fixed the issues the first game had(controls, camera, etc), it could have been a great series.

HyperMoused1403d ago

I though it was great too, yay us

Anomander1403d ago

Beat it as well. it had a good story line. Overall it was decent.

glennhkboy1403d ago

I remember that I played the 1st stage. The control was so bad that I couldn't force myself to continue.

morganfell1403d ago

Fun fact...you're actually one of six :) That game was the reason I kept an Xbox 360 running until they released the very last B/C titles and it was among them.

Chronicle7801402d ago

I thought the game was ok, clunky but ok. Every time I go back to play it though it takes 20 minutes for the controls to 'click' again. Pity most of the advanced combos and controls aren't listed anywhere in the game.

Profchaos1403d ago

Phoenix Down 87.0 – Too Human

Denis Dyack would disapprove.

darthv721651d ago

I liked this game. It has it's flaws but the story and mechanics are pretty good. It still holds up today.

Kribwalker1651d ago

i really enjoyed it when it came out.

It was free recently on xbox through BC. Id love to see this revived but sadly i think the legal issues would stop that
