What are Naughty Dog's Options after Uncharted 3?

Uncharted 3 is set to release November 1st, 2011 and it is going to be one of the biggest PS3 releases we have seen thus far. Naughty Dog started developing the Uncharted Franchise back in 2006 and have already released two games, Drake’s Fortune and Among Thieves. With Drake’s Deception and Golden Abyss set to release on the PS3 and Vita respectfully, what will Naughty Dog do next?

Naughty Dog dates way back to the Crash Bandicoot days on the PS1 where they released 4 Games. During the PS2′s reign on top they released another 4 games in their new-found Jak series. Now as they are coming close to tying up their trilogy with Uncharted what options do they have

^^^This is clearly a joke, but if you are old enough to have been around, they did a Kart game for Crash and Jak.
But seriously, I think they will put out another UC game. I am sure they are working on their next IP though. I am curious to see what they do regardless.

I say make uncharted 4 for the ps3 and then move onto another ip for the ps4. Then retain the uncharted ip and let it sit and die, do not under any circumstances give it away like they did with their other ips.

Well, Sony owns Naughty Dog now (they didn't when Crash was made), so it would be Sony's decision on whether or not to sell the Uncharted IP, which I can guarantee won't happen.

I don't see any reason for them to stop making Uncharted games after Uncharted 3. They're amazing games that sell millions of copies.

Just because if they were to make more Uncharted games, it doesn't mean they're necessarily "milking" the franchise.

...If that's what you were implying by mentioning those two games, of course.

Maybe not to you but i don't like continuations of the same thing. I would much rather have my favorite developers take some extra time to provide a fresh take on the experience in the next entry rather than having a part 1, part 2, etc. I mean do you really not think that 4 games for a franchise in a single console generation is too much? I like how Bethesda and Irrational do sequels. Oblivion was released and followed a couple years later by a new ip, fallout 3. then they passed the beacon over to obsidian to make more of the same for those that wanted it. During that time they were developing a fully realized sequel to a oblivion that is guaranteed to offer a fresh experience. Similarly, Irrational first made Bioshock, passed the beacon to 2k Marin for Bioshock 2(more of the same), and are about to release Bioshock Infinite.

They can go two ways. Follow tradition and make Unkarted. Or Make Uncharted 4. And of course make some Vita games.
