I hope to God inFAMOUS2 comes out in May, been wanting to play that as soon as I finished the first game!

Neckbear4887d ago (Edited 4887d ago )

Goddamn sequel hook, I tell ya.
Edit:

Also, the article has a mistake:

Ar Tonelico 3 ALREADY came out in Japan, January 28th of this year. It'll come out next year here in NA, rumored to be 'round March.

Not only that, for North America, there's a chance Atelier Totori, sequel to Atelier Rorona, that basically fixed everything you could dislike in the first one (Well, excluding alchemy-centric gameplay) is going to come out this year.

@-Superman-

But Ar Tonelico is coming out like in March, Disgaea 4 is coming out Q2 (Dare I say, 'round August-September), and Ni No Kuni isn't probably coming out 'till next year here in NA.

...Yeah.

@Cloudberry down there:

Indeed, however, don't think these games are for everyone.

Hyperdimension Neptunia, for what I've heard, has a few technical issues that could be fixed towards the game's NA release or not, such as freezes and other stuff. Even if they fix 'em, the game's still not for everyone.

Ar Tonelico is a VERY, VERY text-heavy game that bases 90% of its dialog into character interaction, so, if you didn't like the first two, you shouldn't come near this one by all costs.

Disgaea 4 is, well, Disgaea. Grindan n' grindan.

Games the typical guy who has a PS3 obviously wouldn't like.

It's funny how this list is smaller than

GWAVE4886d ago

You can't call yourself a gamer while also ignoring the PS3 in 2011. It's that simple. PS3 has so many exclusives, I'm still going to have to push some into 2012, and that's not including all the multiplats I wanna play.

Redempteur4886d ago (Edited 4886d ago )

ar tonelico is not text heavier than most rpgs ... it just has a huge Lore and floklore that stayed consistent in 3 games , 18 drama cds and god-know many sphere explored on the official websites ..

The game by itself has text but not that much more than regular rpgs .. BUt if you enjoy the world there is a lot more to read on "the side".

but i agree don't come near it if you tried the firsts and hated them because the third hasn't changed it's formula .. they improved on everything tehy've done on the first 2 ..so it's a blast for whoever love this game ( like me ).

Anyway having a lot of text is by no means a bad thing ..if you love rpgs ( western or eastern ) then you should be accustomed to read .. ( most great ,epic rpgs have lots of text and you should have played them ALREADY if you love rpgs )

summer is when we need more games publishers need to learn both MGS$ and GTA4 came out during/around summer and sold really well this thought of games only sell early or late needs to change.

I just hope that exclusive games which still TBD / To Be Determined (of their official release dates) are placed well.

Personally, I want inFamous 2, Socom 4, and maybe Motorstorm Apocalypse at summer.

I just hope the 2011's summer isn't as bad as 2010's summer draught.

MariaHelFutura4887d ago

I want MS:A as soon as possible.

SolidAhmed4887d ago

That is just an insane 2011 games list

EVILDEAD3604887d ago

Personally,

I'm literally can't wait for SOTC HD..

Sony got it right..

Killzone 3, Resistance, and Uncharted 3 are spaced really good throughout the year.

My darkhorse is 'Journey'..saw gthat behind the scenes trailer on the game..WOW..can't wait

Evil

digitalivan4887d ago

The list is lacking some games, like Twisted Metal, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 one...

Scrupuless4886d ago

Author advised the readers that he put only the games he thought were coming out for sure this year. Of course you would know that if you had bothered to read the article as opposed to skimming it.

saladthieves4886d ago

You know what Sony? Screw you! Oh gosh your 2011 lineup of exclusives is guaranteed to make me declare for bankruptcy!

Cajun Chicken4887d ago

Where's Ratchet and Clank All 4 One? I thought that was confirmed late 2011.

I can never have enough Ratchet and Clank.

dude_meister4887d ago (Edited 4887d ago )

i was wondering the same thing, but r3 is coming around the same time so i don't think we'll see a ratchet next year. i mean the only time we saw ratchet and resistance in the same year was with r2 and quest for booty, and that wasn't even a fully fledged ratchet title.

Cajun Chicken4887d ago

Odd seeing how the trailer said 'Fall 2011'. I think it's likely to come out around the same time as Uncharted as usual. Resistance 3 is probably more likely to be a summer game after Infamous 2.

ikkeweer4887d ago

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One
Ape Escape Fury! Fury!
White Knight Chronicles 2
Twisted Metal

Ju4886d ago

I too thought R3 is summer game. Better spaced out between KZ3 and UC3. Interestint, the big "3" in one year.

Cloudberry4887d ago

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel rumored (?) would be released in March 17th 2011.

http://www.siliconera.com/2...

Disgaea 4 is at September 17th 2011.

---------------------------

PS: It's good to see that the article's list includes PS3's exclusive JRPGs.

* Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel.

* Hyper Dimension Neptunia.

* Disgaea 4.

As much as other potential famous PS3 exclusive games of 2011, I don't want the JRPGs to be overlooked.

PSS: Yakuza 4 English version is at March 15th 2011 in the US, and March 25th 2011 for Europe.

redwolf4887d ago (Edited 4887d ago )

never thought there would be time when all the big three(3) PS3 games will come in the SAME YEAR:

RESISTANCE 3 - UNCHARTED 3 - KILLZONE 3

with these games and a lot of others from different genres PS3 will rule 2011

Black-Helghast4887d ago

Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 came out on the same year...Didn't it? Sorry i owned an xbox when Killzone 2 came out.

Cloudberry4887d ago

.
Along with inFamous, Ratchet & Clank Future A Crack In Time, Demon's Souls, PS3 price cut & Kevin Butler if I'm not mistaken.

Black-Helghast4887d ago

@Cloudberry Wow, so Kevin Butler came out in 2009? Hahaha that sounds funny. xD

Cloudberry4887d ago (Edited 4887d ago )

.
Actually, I don't know if Kevin Butler had made an appearance before the PS3 price cut.

The first time I saw him is when he appear in the first PS3 $299 price cut commercial.

jdrman20074886d ago

@Cloudberry

Kevin Butler's first appearance was in the MLB 09: The Show commercial when he was making fun of the fact that Dustin Pedroia couldn't hit the inside fast ball.

Sucker Punch has already said that inFamous 2 won't come out in the first half of 2011, so forget about May.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Cacabunga2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow3d ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo1822d ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie2d ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

ApocalypseShadow2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Totally ridiculous comment.

The only exclusivity Sony had was to their own creation of The Show. Microsoft could have paid the MLB for the license just like Sony did and made their own baseball game.

Microsoft instead, groomed MLB for years in trying to poach Sony's game and bring it to Xbox. They're worth 3 TRILLION dollars. You think that's not enough money to make their own baseball game? Don't be delusional.

Microsoft spun it like they always do and told the media that they had to trust Sony with their hardware. After they put Sony in that position of not having a choice. Either go multiplatform or stop making one of their successful games. That's a no win scenario.

And what did Microsoft do? They didn't try to sell the game to the Xbox community. They put it on game pass to hurt Sony. Pushing the idea of why buy games that are $70 when you can play them in their cheap service for $10. It was a dirty tactic.

You fell for the Kool aid drink Microsoft served you instead of spitting it out. Hope it tasted good because you were fooled by Phil and the gang.

Xbox executive Sara Bond has told Axios that Microsoft spent a number of years trying to get MLB The Show onto Xbox consoles. And when it finally succeeded in breaking off PlayStation’s long-held exclusivity, the company had to “trust” Sony with pre-release Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Bond revealed that MLB The Show “always came up” in conversations between Microsoft and the Major League Baseball organization. “We always said, ‘We love this game. It would be a huge opportunity to bring it to Xbox.'” she recalled. However, when Microsoft’s efforts materialized, it put the company in an awkward situation where it had to send in pre-release consoles to a rival company.

Lying to yourself is unbecoming.

Article link tells you all you need to know in Sarah Bond's own words.

Hereandthere1d 21h ago

They were too cheap/inept/lazy to develop their own mlb game, so they port begged for years and bribed the mlb to make the show multiplatform. Like i said many times, xbox brought nothing to the table their 24 years, ZERO.

ApocalypseShadow1d 7h ago

At least you and others get it. Note drank the Kool aid and asked for seconds thinking it was refreshing.

Most don't even know how it all played out but it's there in black and white for all to see. Microsoft brought it up for years until the MLB forced Sony's hand. It was a win win for Microsoft. Kill one reason to buy a PlayStation or kill the game by dropping it in a cheap service to kill Sony's sales numbers on PlayStation.

OtterX2d ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Cockney1d 2h ago

They chose well, Sony gave them the backing to pursue their dreams with no restrictions even tho their games especially dreams have very niche appeal. Media molecule and Sony deserve respect for this in an age of risk averse publishing.

RNTody2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno2d ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno2d ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.

2d ago
fsfsxii2d ago

They shutdown the servers because no one was playing, no one in the community cared about the user created levels so why keep them up? Wtf you guys would never succeed in running a business.

Inverno2d ago

Yea dood no one was playing so they shut off the servers. Cause people with enough common sense can't just Google why they were actually shut of, right?
