UK chart: COD batters competition

Call of Duty: Black Ops has entered into the UK charts, unsurprisingly, as the new number one.

A majority of copies of the Treyarch shooter sold was on 360 with the share at 56 percent.

FIFA 11 is second and Just Dance 2 rounds off the top three.Kinect Sports also entered as a new entry at four.

I'm surprised by only a 6% majority.

Here in the UK it's 360 land, or it seems to be when viewing TV adverts or going in the GAME or MS sales figures.

44% divided by 4 platforms ... DS, PC, PS3, Wii.
Pretty big difference.

As for Call of Duty: Black Op in 1st... is anyone surprised?

Wow, Black Ops becomes the fastest ever selling game in UK history 1.4mil in 24hours 56%= 360

DS, PC, PS3, Wii= 44%

I think Reach still is the best selling on 1 format.

Also this top 40 UK chart has Kinect Sports at #4, there are 9 Kinect games plus Fable3 making the charts while outselling the 1 ps3 game, Sports Champion at #40. 360 is definitely dominating the ps3 in the UK much like the US.

It was always gonna be COD, I found an even bigger surprise to see that a kinect game was in the top 10. I would have expected a top 15 maybe, but top 5 is a pretty good debut with black ops only just being released.
It seems first week sales of black ops seem super strong, I wanna see the numbers just after Christmas

no surprise for cod being top ms timing is a bit silly with kineckt every one i know including myself is not interested in kineck at this time period.with cod already hit and gt5 next seems a crazy time to try and give kineckt the big say for the hardcore at least.

Ummm NO because it faces strong competition from Brotherhood, NFS, COD and Kinect Sports (already #4 despite only coming out wednesday). GT5 might well just tank and end up in 4th or 5th after the first week.

but I got CoD : BO and it is very good. the SP was one of my facvs becasue fo the astory

and the multi player im liking alot as well casue this tiem I actually llike most of the maps

Update: Number cruncher GfK Chart-Track has explained to Eurogamer why sales of Kinect Adventures - the game the Kinect camera is bundled with - haven't been included.

Microsoft's view on this is that the Sensor sells for £129.99 and that Adventures will not be sold separately - it is a pack-in product," Chart-Track's Dorian Bloch revealed.

This is similar to Wii Sports, which was never tracked as a software item as it was never available as a solus product - only with hardware.
