IGN Game Changer: Hmm... (BeefJack.com)

BeefJack "I kind of make a policy of not bashing other websites and magazines. It isn’t classy. And I want to point out before I go any further that I have absolutely no issue with this website’s editorial whatsoever. Some great writers, presenters and reporters work there. That it has such an extraordinarily large readership is telling.

However."

That's insane bro. I just hope nobody falls for that, it's not even worth it.

JokesOnYou4914d ago

Hmmmm, so if you win this contest or whatever you get NO MONEY and ALL EXPENSES PAID FOR BY THE INDIVIDUAL. Damm, come on IGN you're the biggest videogame site in the world you can afford alot better than that.

Dramscus4914d ago

It's mostly for people trying to develop a portfolio. Journalism is a very difficult field to get into and this is basically giving people a chance.
You write three articles or make three videos for a large site like ign and it would make you instantly hire-able by many other sites. Also if you did well they would ign would probably offer you a permanent position with compensation.

Sitris4914d ago

It's like a gameshow host saying
"congratulations! You've won a new car............which you have to pay for!"
That doesnt make any sense IGN, none at all.

dredgewalker4914d ago

If this is true then it's another stain on IGNorant's rep. Why would anyone enter a contest with such a 'prize'? Feels more like an April Fool's joke and it ain't funny.

limewax4914d ago (Edited 4914d ago )

Meh, who cares, at the end of the day IGN care about as much about the gamers as MS and Sony.....Its not their job to care, its their job to write stuff down and find ways of makig other people write their stuff for them for free. Its just business is business as usual, just dont be the mug that falls for it

dredgewalker4914d ago

Sadly there will always be people who are gonna fall for it by thinking that it's an "opportunity".

Akagi4914d ago

People still go to IGN for news?

gamerdude1324914d ago

What kind of prize is working for IGN anyway? Not good for your reputation...

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
