Man becomes irate after playing video game, kills 4-month-old child

Details of the murder were sketchy at first, but today, the Chicago Tribune reports that on July 15, Kiyarah's mother took a nap, leaving her daughter in Lucas' care. Lucas became irate after playing a video game and dropped Kiyarah on her head. Lucas then picked her up and shook her violently. Kiyarah was reportedly unresponsive, so Lucas placed chewing gum in her mouth to make it appear that she had choked. Kiyarah sustained severe brain injuries and multiple bone fractures. She died on July 18 in Rush University Medical Center. The child's injuries are consistent with being violently shaken, Bruce said.

Lucas would have been totally innocent even after dropping the baby because that's an accident and shaking the baby to try to keep the baby awake. Shaking is a bit excessive because it could have had a spinal injury, but you can't fault someone who doesn't know. And then taking the baby to hospital or calling 911. But trying to cover up his mistakes with gum and hide it crosses the line.

I'm curios to what game he is playing. Why don't they ever tell which game the guilty person is playing in these types news articles?

First off: my sincerest thoughts go out to the family. This is a tragedy beyond anything, however, certain games can bring to a point of frustration where you go berserk for 4-5 seconds.

I know that I would never in my life get to the point of murder, but Motorstorm caused me to smash my hand into a wooden table and break it.
Y'know, the last ticket you have to complete in Mudpool with a Mud Plugger, where you always lose JUST before the finish-line?

Yeah, games can make you do that. But such a sad individual as this guy deserves a trip to Abu Gharib, or Cité Soleil. Or both.

i don't even play motorstorm anymore because i got so angry playing it. Im a huge burnout fan and i find motorstorm way to slidy and drifty and if you hit a ramp wrong theres nothing you can do until you fall off the cliff. But the worst thing about that game is when you're driving in a straight line and the car blows up because it must of hit the smallest rock or crack in the road. And im like, 'what did i hit?' It frustrates me too much so i stopped playing it

At one point or another we've all become frustrated playing video games, and maybe have even thrown a controller or two. BUT, you can't be in your right mind to harm a child, regardless of the circumstances. This is just too bad.

On another note... You'll always be able to find these kind of stories out there, cause this is a BIG world and there are always going to be evil/crazy things going on. It's like when you turn on the cable news tonight and find another child missing or strange murder mystery, it's because this stuff happens all the time. The thing is that with the speed that news travels in the 21st century it brings more of this stuff to light.
