A Harris Poll of 2,223 US online adults found that 87% were aware of Windows Vista but only 12% of those would be upgrading to it in the next twelve months.
The poll was carried out in early March and compares to a similar online poll in December where 40% were aware of Vista and 20% intended to upgrade in the coming year.
"In order to generate that 'WOW' factor, Microsoft will have to put forth a value proposition that will move the majority to the upgrade category in the years ahead." said Milton Ellis from Harris.
We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.

There goal is like blizzard and what they did with fallout 76 you make mods they can sell and you become a slave.
On skyrim they have "trusted" mod devs now basically a badge that lets your mod on the store you get a crumb of the sale when someone buys it.
lol to the disagrees, the last Skyrim update broke mods too. They've been trying to kill mods to monetize them in creation club for years, it's not a stretch that they purposely put out patches just to break free mods.
The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.
Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.

The ps5 version doesn't change a ton but from my small playtime it's enough to make me want to replay it just to have it running at 60.
A side note to this my PS4 version no longer boots after it's "update" so I guess that's what it feels like to own a Bethesda game on PC

They buy IPs not talent. That's why these buyouts never work and the IPs die. Right now it's too expensive to develop games - but I expect that to shift maybe as AI tools can make it easier. many people like my self wont buy vista cause it has many problems, and yes it takes almost a new rig to get it working good.
eventually wether we all like it or not it will become the "standard" like windows xp, this process however would take a long time.
I installed Windows Vista and every single program and usb device I had on windows xp works perfectly fine.
I do believe however after the 1st service pack for Windows Vista alot of issues will be resolved.
MY Suggestion is WAIT 2-3 years because that is when Windows Vienna will be released..
Vista = Windows ME
Vienna = Windows 2000
I think it will be a story like vista being like windows ME and vienna being like windows 2000
except vienna is going to kill it.
12% will buy a computer for Vista.
83% will buy a new computer that has vista to replace a dead one.
5% will die before there computer.
