1UP interviewed Kamiya at the time, and have rarely seen a game developer so happy. He was cracking inside jokes with other Platinum staff, making bold claims about his game, and seemed more interested in having fun than doing traditional bullet point interviews. It was a flashy event, complete with fireworks over the ocean, made particularly meaningful for Kamiya because just short of 15 years before that, he applied for a job at Sega and got turned down.
