Hah! GameSpot has changed their tune lately, though, as they've been very, very kind to PS3 games in the last year or so. They gave MGS4 game of the year last year, and they gave great scores to all the major exclusives like Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MLB 09 The Show, and InFamous. I bet that they don't throw a "too much variety" in the face of the new Ratchet game, even though it's going to have even more variety than the previous one. They'll give it a good score, I'm predicting it now (they probably should've given Tools of Destruction a better score, that was a ridiculously fun game, but I never played the PS2 Ratchet games so I can't compare it to the series' roots)

I prefer Ratchet to Resistance. You can see they are more at home with platforming than shooters. Resistance is great but they have way more experience with platformers.

Damn i played the last R&C:TOD 5 times. And Quest for Booty 7 times can't wait for this game i love insomniac they know how to give fans what they want.

Yeah, you can really see Insomniac put their heart and soul in Ratchet. Resistance just feels like Insomniac want to grow up, but just have too much fun making Ratchet and it shows.
Although I must say, the weapons and universe in Resistance are compelling but just don't seem to have the same amount of care and craft put into it, but the games are still great, but I will see Insomniac's best games as the Ratchets.
For example; we should be tired of these games by now! and we're not! and that just proves how brilliant Insomniac are realising that fantastic cartoon'y sci-fi world they invest in Ratchet that nobody else can touch upon. Once Ratchet is over on PS3, if Insomniac moves on there's going to be a big void left.

If they finish Ratchet I am sure they will start into something else. They love working with Sony and I am sure Sony loves Insomniac.

I generally meant with the Ratchet franchise ending, not Insomniac moving on after PS3, I'm fairly sure they'll stick with Sony with PS4 or whatever. I think Sony'll probably buy them soon just like they did with ND, Insomniac would be another great addition to the PS3 tech team.
Could they get away with another Ratchet trilogy? 'Ratchet and Clank Future Neo - Bomb Whole in Space'?

I don't think they will buy them they are getting too big now. It is like people wanting Sony to buy Level 5. They own a stadium in Japan. If they can afford a stadium Sony would have to shell out tonnes of money.

I hope they push the limits of the PS3.They look to advance the genre,not just ride on top of the wave,but go through the tube.Bring us more depth,style,open ended gameplay choices.Push the boundaries....

A new twist,a new gameplay mechanic,something that evolves platofrming/act/adv...This is the kind of dev house that can take a risk,go for something "more"...

A sneak peak at that "rumored" RPG/ACT/platformer would be ideal too....

High up on my most wanted list without doubt.

I love this series and I think TOD had great graphics but I swear that if crack in time doesn't blow away TOD I'm going to be the first one in their saying "oOoOoOoOo Ratchet In clank 1.5!!!!!" Because their are a lot of sheep on this website, bahhhh bahhhh! Plus I love making people mad, haha, but deep down I just hope it looks even better :)

I literally just beat Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Very enjoyable game right there if you haven't played it.

I never completed the first R&C: Future game. Problem was, I'd play alone but then friends would come over so we'd start a new game. Then other friends would come over and we'd start yet another new game. I've played the first 5 levels like 6 times. I never got around to finishing it. Since it doesn't have trophies, I won't be buying it again to play through. Call me lame, but trophies make games replayable.

Trophies do add replay value, but they're shallow compared to Tools of Destruction's weapons and uniform upgrades and unlockables that can actually be used in the game.

wow i forgot insomniac made ratchet.I'm sooo exited for this game. they truly are insomniac they pump out games as if they run a sweat shop. all AAA too, people always say naughty dog ftw, Sony Santa Monica ftw and GG ftw but we truly need to appreciate insomniac they choose to work on ps3:) so how about i just say ps3 ftw! since every studio that works exclusively for it own anything else.
