Blend Games: SBK Superbike World Championship Review

Blend Games:
I like good racing games: the Mario Karts, the Burnouts, and the Gran Turismos. I've tried plenty of other racers, but it seems like everything wants to be everything to everyone. Everything has to have "sim elements" coupled with its "arcade feel", and that never works. When I heard about SBK Superbike World Championship I approached it with a casual optimism. I'd never really found a bike racing game that could hold my interest, but I'm open to the idea.

Unfortunately, SBK falls flat on its face in every category. If it was possible, my review would simply be the word "bland." Everything, from the visuals to the actual content of the game, is bland. However, my editor frowns upon one-word reviews, so I have to write a bit more.

SBK X: Superbike World Championship Review - ZTGD

Scorched Angel Writes: As far as racing simulation games go, the gaming genre has come a long way. With standout car racing sims such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport ruling the roost on one side, while other games such as MotoGP and SBK taking the other half, being Motorbike racing. Milestone and Deep Silver have just released their new entry into the series: SBK X: Superbike World Championship, and are trying to appeal to audiences new and old by continually expanding on their old simulation formula, while complementing it with another mode to expand into the casual fans, who just want to have a good time. The game they put together is a well crafted, fun experience, which really gives you the feeling of racing around a track and the wind hitting your face, but unfortunately has some drawbacks that keep it from taking the checkered flag.
