From 500k for XBO down to 261k for Series consoles…..Yikes.

It really puts the 3m sold in a year into perspective. Meanwhile, PlayStation is selling 3m per quarter in the what is usually the worst quarter for sales.

The Asus handheld with xbox scribbled on it will obviously be their saving grace.

@E16ps......SEGA status They've been forced to open wide and go full 3rd party. How many dupe cope accounts do you need to cap

Notellin38d ago

Clearly you're just being an asshole and pretending to come off as intelligent but the success of the Switch and PlayStation Portal prove there is a decent market for a handheld device that plays console quality games.

CrashMania38d ago

@note.

Sure, because the Steam Deck and others have sold in droves right? They haven't, and in my view I don't see how yet another similar device with an xbox sticker, of which it's popularity is at an all time low will move millions.

The current PC handhels are good products, but niche products, nintendo almost completely owns that market sector and I don't that changing, not from a xbox sticker PC anyway.

Littlebigmatador37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Steam Deck hasn't sold that well and they have more users than Xbox if I'm not mistaken. I don't think this handheld device will sell a lot. But I could be wrong

IAMRealHooman37d ago

@Notellin Yes, but Xbox games are slowly popping up on every other platform. So if a PS5, a PC, a Steamdeck, and a Switch 2 get these Xbox developed titles, why does anyone need an Xbox, let alone a handheld Xbox?

If i buy a switch 2 i get mario, zelda and master chief?
If i buy a ps5 i get Kratos, Drake, and marcus fenix?

I hear that it is really hard to get an Xbox in Europe. Even if one actually wanted one they’ve all become severely limited. Microsoft biggest rival is Microsoft at this point, not PlayStation.

trez108238d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Franwex@ that’s just people trying to spin. It’s not hard to find at all in the biggest markets in Europe ( UK, France, germany, Netherlands, Belgium ) having said that I can’t comment on other countries because I haven’t been there personally but in those places they’re not hard to find at all.

We want a proper competition between those companies as console only players but it seems impossible now because as you said Microsoft is pretty much fighting itself and instead of trying to remedy the situation they’re trying to spin and spin to save face. Sony humbled themselves in that PS3 era and pretty much saved the PlayStation brand and Microsoft could do the same but sadly consoles aren’t a priority.

Jigga6938d ago

@franwex There is no xbox in Europe because nobody wants one. MS gave up. That's all.

IRetrouk37d ago

@fran none of the biggest stores in the uk have stock of series x, only series s, to get an series x you have to order directly from ms or wait on said stores ordering it in for you, it's not spin, the series x has been severely cut back.

It would be news if their (VGFCZ)numbers was real.
Like a Caren police call it’s all lies and exaggerations. 🤦🏿

tiron838d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Well, I agree that Xbox numbers are massively inflated, Take Two boss Straus Zelnick revealed that Xbox sales were around 25m in November which lined up with AMD's chips shipped numbers while VGChartz had Xbox over 30m.

At least PlayStation and Nintendo reveal their sales so VGChartz can only undertrack them until the numbers are officially revealed.

S2Killinit38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Yeah they normally over estimate xbox numbers. But since MS doesn't report their numbers to consumers, VGchart is the best we get until MS has to release numbers to investors. VG not spot on, but they are in the ballpark. VG then adjusts their numbers to the lower real number of xbox sales and the cycle begins again.

S2Killinit38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

These xbox numbers don’t bode well for their next console(s). Even if they come out strong out the gate, a large number of gamers have moved on.

Xbox sales are flat-lining. I can't see how they will even pass the Xbox One... with both models combined. It's really sad to see

neutralgamer199238d ago

I want one more proper xbox console from MS which wouldn't have the limiting factor known as series S with it. Rumor has it another handheld will be coming in 2027 which will be produced b y MS themselves unlike the one rumored to be coming in 2025 by Asus. Make a proper handheld with no windows Nonsense and straight up like steamdeck with everything going through xbox app

DodoDojo38d ago

I'd like to see another Xbox with better leadership at the helm. With their games non-exclusive now, I'm expecting them to not try as much and the systems will just be Gamepass portals.

Doomeduk38d ago

Said it before and I'll say it again chalk around the Xbox call homicide and don't touch a thing it could be important

DivineHand12538d ago

It's unfortunate but the PS5 may end up being the only viable high end option available for gamers.

At this time, it is super difficult to get a current gen GPU to build a PC and this is because of the games Nvidia, Intel and AMD is playing with the supply. There is no chip shortage yet we can't get our hands on new GPUs.

Xbox is not even in the race at this point with all exclusives likely launching on PS5 going forward and the PS5 being at an affordable price minus the cost for PS plus.

Sony's dominance is expected to continue unless they have a catastrophic scandal like the Don Matrick E3 moment.

Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror (XS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "The only thing developers Grindstone & Indigo Studios have successfully argued is how underwhelming spooky dolls tend to be as a horror main course; even so, they didn't have to forego quality craftsmanship all the while. Apropos of its central premise, if you held a physical copy up to a mirror you'd see a "How Not to Design Horror" book in the reflection. From vacuous nonsense tarnishing what's otherwise a rather basic story to dogshit gameplay, nearly every aspect reads like an asset-flipped indie horror game that somehow got a legitimate publisher's attention and additional funding. Perhaps it's quite fitting, then, that Behind the Broken Mirror managed to shatter my subterranean expectations."

“ certainly doesn't help that, layered on top of so many failings, this is retailing for $30 on console”

Outrageous! 🤮

coolbeans9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

I know, man. I don't *try* to fixate on price over other qualities, but it's a huge red flag to ignore in this case.
