Similarly a computer crash originally was a HDD head crash. The reader would physically crash into the disk. Now it's used in other unrelated situations. "My game keeps crashing." There isn't really any "crash," but nobody complains when someone uses this connotation.

RROD has become so big it will possibly be used for years to come to describe a system failure on any console - this is the context I was using. It may not be politically correct, but do we really need to worry about being politically correct when speaking about games and consoles? I guess it's more seriously than I thought. I'm sorry.

I've got to add my voice to chorus as well. I remember I was pretty stoked when I got my wii. Launch day I was out early in the morning to get a coffee when I drove by a FutureShop and noticed the line wasn't really that long. What the hell, eh? Then I played a few games on it and it sat idle for months. Then I had to force myself to play games on it because I felt guilty for having bought the lame thing, but couldn't bring myself to like it. Then it sat gathering dust while I felt guilty and played my PS3 instead. Now my co-worker and his wife are happy to have it all for $400, and I got $400 extra dollars to spend over Christmas. I'm sure they feel pretty good about their purchase right now. Maybe they'll get some use out of it.

Didn't like my old account name so I sorta switched but anyways. I know a lot of family's record there kids at Christmas, Thanks for pointing out the obvious though. I am simply pointing out the manner in which this is recorded is vastly different to the other Crazy Wii kid video posted by Christmas day.

I do quite abit of recording myself and I can tell when a camera is completely set up to take a shot. Don't get me wrong its clearly a Wii that he got as a X-mas present but I think his parents most likely encouraged that reaction. Not to mention the way is was presented where I come from kids open presents them self.

All of the factors lead me to believe this is a simple set up for a rather funny recording and is completely unnatural. Try watching some tutorials on how to get the best shots when recording something. You should see where am coming from.

Not to mention the speed on which this video found its way to the internet to many factors lead to the parents simply looking for a nice advertisement contract. Not that there's anything wrong with that hey the kid has a fun Christmas right? Although looking back maybe my sad family comment is a little harsh I mean who wouldn't try it on.

Something about this video didn't have the same quality as the N64 kid; no charm and nothing that showed that it had any spontaneity what so ever. If you look at it and compare with the N64 vid you will see a bit of a difference:

1)N64 Video had the kids with an immediate and believable reaction. No pause of any kind that would suggest that the reaction might not be natural. Also the children in the N64 vid, they had a certain charm that would make giving them something like that worth it.

2)Wii Kid didn't feel right at all. Unlike the N64 video, he was given the gift and wasn't "allowed" to discover the surprise for himself. Also this boy is nowhere near as charming as the ones in the N64 one. He just seems like a rather big brat who seems to be getting his way again. No joy, charm or believability at all is to be found in this video clip.

I think they should do a proverbial 'Rickroll' and switch this nonsense with the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better N64 clip.
