I still say the series peaked with Galaxy. They've put out good stuff since then, but nothing really matched up.

Absolutely no way odyssey should be above either galaxy. Laughable

This is a sale because How is a 5 year old game still $40? Only Nintendo can get away with this.

Nintentional827d ago

Because Nintendo doesn’t devalue their IP and put their first party lineup in the bargain bin after the first 2 months of being on the shelf like Sony and other publishers do. Nintendo “gets away with it” because they have brand recognition and give you a finished, quality, product that you can play for years. They’re evergreen titles, people wouldn’t pay $60 for these games years after release if they weren’t quality releases. Don’t you think Sony wish they could do this for their IP as well? They don’t reduce the price out if the goodness of their hearts for their fans, they’re a business first. Their games just don’t have the legs to sell at full price for as long as Nintendo first party, especially since they’ve also trained their fanbase to just wait a few months when the games inevitably go on sale. Go ahead and disagree, even though I’m right 😉

No. There is absolutely no reason that a multi-year old game should cost near full price. Period.

I don't know what Nintendo did for you, to make you place them on such a grandiose pedestal. But it's that kind of mentality that has inflated Nintendo's ego as a company. Enabling them to feel like they can just get away with it at this point. Nintendo slaps the "Quality" seal on every game of theirs. Has every game been perfection? Absolutely not. There are a lot of duds out there with that seal of approval. I don't care if it's the greatest game ever made. After a year or two, it needs to drop in price. Nintendo has always been incredibly money-hungry though, so it won't ever change unfortunately.
