Coming to consoles and PC, this narrative journey weaves together different time periods in an engaging story. Does it stick the landing?
The Humble Bundle Complete 11 Bit Collection just launched today. It includes nine items including Frostpunk, Moonlighter, Children of Morta, and more. As always, a percentage of profits from the bundle go to charity.
VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "State of Play could’ve tended towards encouraging greater interactivity (however subtle) that would have complemented the narrative; instead, the obstructive simplicity leaves you frost-bitten, unable to tangibly connect with Peter’s struggle. Combine this with a mismanaged story burning out its initial intrigue and South of the Circle winds up being a resounding disappointment."
So there are bugs and what not, but the problems go beyond what’s fixable. That’s a shame. I haven’t played a cel shaded game in a while.
TGG says: "South of the Circle tells an emotional and thought-provoking tale that isn’t to be missed by those who enjoy narrative adventure games. I found myself caring more and more about Peter and Clara as I got to learn more about them and it isn’t often that you get an emotional video game tale that focuses so much on love while also talking about things like war and social issues."
