The big winner this week was VF5; while not scoring as high as Virtua Fighter 4 before it, it still received a very good 35/40. Also surprising was the 30/40 given to the new handheld Medal of Honor for the PSP. Traditionally, western first-person shooters have not been well-received in Japan.
Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3, Sega): 9 / 9 / 9 / 8 - (35/40)
Cooking Mama: Minna to Issho ni Oryouri Taikai! (Wii, Taito): 6 / 8 / 8 / 7 - (29/40)
OutRun2 Special Tour (PSP, Sega): 7 / 7 / 6 / 6 - (26/40)
Fuzion Frenzy 2 (Xbox 360, Microsoft): 4 / 5 / 5 / 5 - (19/40)
Jet Impulse (NDS, Nintendo): 7 / 7 / 7 / 7 - (28/40)
Luminous Arc (NDS, Marvelous): 8 / 7 / 7 / 6 - (28/40)
Medal of Honor Heroes (PSP, EA): 7 / 8 / 8 / 7 - (30/40)
New Rainbow Island: Hurdy Gurdy Daibouken (PSP, Marvelous): 4 / 4 / 4 / 4 - (16/40)
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
favourite fighting series ever(alongside SFII,Fatal Fury,Samurai Showdown and KofF), so it's good to see the game is up to par with AM2's previous offerings :]
just hope the devs don't balls up teh 360 version, that would REALLY get me mad!
SHOGUN

That loooks good. Even the ever soo biased Gamespot may have to give this game gold. Im sure IGN will. Im still pissed at Gamespot after a 9.0 to final fantasy 12 and 8.5 to Resistance both incredible bogus reviews. Then to turn around and give saints row on 360 a 8.7 lol are they kiddin. Well that fanboy has long since left gamespot so hopefully we will start seeing a lot less unbiased reviews.
R34GTR, youre exactly right
I agree, that is just plain ignorant, FF12 is one of the best RPGs of all time and if you haven't played RFOM both single play and online than you are doing yourself a disservice as a gamer.
I owned Saint's Row and that game is full of bugs and really can't hold a stick to any game in the GTA series.

VF5 will be incredible, it's sad it won't be released for the 360 in japan because it would have helped 360 sales. I wish VF5 had an online mode. I will be buying the PS3 version myself because the PS3 controller is more confortable (in my opinion).
i more into soulcalibur at this point. can't wait for a next-gen version. i still think they should collaborate on a huge scale fighter with characters from all of the series. tekken, virtua fighter, street fighter, king of fighters, doa, mortal kombat, killer instinct, ect. never happen, but 1 can dream.
