Switch ain’t outselling Wii

eagle212338d ago

If shortages didn't plague the first 7 months, I bet it would be selling 1:1 with Wii at this point. It's only $49 more in price. I think it's sales will be able to squeak past the Wii even after a new generation has started.

ABizzel12338d ago (Edited 2338d ago )

The Wii had shortages for over a year, if anything this is helping the Switch be close to the Wii.

PhoenixUp2338d ago

Wii was also plagued with shortages for the same timeframe. In fact it suffered shortages in its first two years

michellelynn09762337d ago

This is different. Nintendo had to share chips with Apple.

PhoenixUp2337d ago

The cause of a shortage doesn’t change the fact a shortage had occurred

septemberindecember2337d ago

We don’t know that. Holiday Switch sales aren’t reflected in these numbers yet. There will be a dramatic spike during that time.

michellelynn09762337d ago

How do I report the harassing messages him and Rob send me? Just curious. Also, just about all my comments are getting reported as innaproporate.

Gemmol2337d ago

wii came out at xmas, switch came out at march........by time the switch finish xmas it will tie or pass it, but unless switch sell crazy next year, the wii will take back the lead

Since we're comparing Portables to home consoles now , where is the Wii U vs 3DS sales chart?

Prince_TFK2338d ago

Lmao dude. Thanks for telling me that the Switch is not a home console in every Nintendo article bro.

septemberindecember2337d ago

It’s the only thing he has left to hold onto since just about every prediction he has made has been false.

_-EDMIX-_2337d ago

@sep-the prediction was Nintendo was going to release a portable that could out to the television and officially exit the Home console Market.

That's exactly what happened.

U mad still huh?

Theknightofnights2337d ago

@ _-EDMIX-_

Except they didn't exit the home console market, they just combined their home console and portable console markets.

Also, you say crap that is wrong all the time. Like the Dreamcast being more powerful than the PS2, or the PSP being more powerful than the PS2. Remember when you said the Switch wouldn't get support from third parties because those games won't sell well on the console? What about when you said that Dragon Quest was going to sell more on the PS4 than the 3DS?

The fact of the matter is that you "critique" the Switch (and probably Xbox too) with half your replies being long, convoluted, and arduous, and the other half being this constant sodding rhetoric. Mad? Nobody is mad. We think you are a joke.

michellelynn09762337d ago

That is all him and Rob do is these lame comments. And send me harassing messages.

_-EDMIX-_2337d ago

😂😂😂 28514;

"they just combined their home console and portable console markets"

Yes, they only make one portable now that could out to the television.

Unless you're prepared to add iPhone iTouch Android phones laptops PSP and every other handheld to "Home console" simply because it get out to the television.

It's pretty clear.

Nintendo does not make dedicated home consoles any longer they only make Portables with HDMI.

Stop being a troll. Nintendo did not exist the home console market. They made a different type of home console. It is a hybrid. The media calls it that, Nintendo does and if the Switch is a handheld, why is Zelda winning console game over the year on the Switch? And Mario Odyssey gets nominated for game of the year. Not handheld, console game. You don't get to make up your own words.

septemberindecember2337d ago (Edited 2337d ago )

Lol you literally respond with the same drivel every time.

The whole “PSP did it” is just a farce anyway. All those have are hdmi out. Power isn’t increased when connected to a TV for higher fidelity. That’s something you just don’t seem to get. That’s what helps the Switch become a “hybrid”

Keep it classy edmix...and get some new material.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.
