Whaaaaa

Oh god no. They should really focus on their single player more.

Herbalistic2779d ago

.I doubt publishers are willing to fund any huge budget single player software from Remedy because of how bad Alan Wake and Quantum Break sold at retail

XXanderXX2779d ago

best bet they sell their IP concepts to MS/Xbox or have them fund them.

Kribwalker2776d ago

Did not know 4.5million was terrible sales for a brand new IP

As well, quantum break is the number one selling new ms published IP this gen

Yep so terrible

game4funz2779d ago

Quantum break was a fine game. Didn't deserve the awful reception it got.

At the same time you see games like the order and tear away that also suffer because of either bad reception or lack of promotion. Wish gamers wouldn't jump at any chance to shit on the competitors games... Now this kind of thing happens.

Please don´t... Alan Wake 2 please.

Herbalistic2779d ago (Edited 2779d ago )

Remedy tried to find a publisher for Alan Wake 2 but none wanted anything to do with the project. I dislike the new direction of the studio myself but they have make $$$ to keeps mouths fed and pay bills.

Let's just hope their unannounced project is still a single player experience, they obviously have the skill for it.

Whoa, stick with what you know i.e spend over six years making a relatively short single player game that is meh/okay, not the worst but no GOTY either.

Why Monopolies In Gaming Must Not Be Allowed

As of right now, there are no monopolies in the games industry, and for the sake of the medium as a whole, they never should either.

thorstein5h ago

Shouldn't be allowed in any field.

Inverno2h ago

And yet the biggest tech companies in America are essentially that. They buy up all the small comps only to kill them off and steal what they have, and if they can't buy em they bleed them to death.

jwillj2k455m ago

Eventually they’ll realize the value is with the employee not the company. Buying an IP means nothing if the people who contributed are let go. They’ll get it one day.

MrCrimson14m ago

tech is different because they buy threats and then kill them. Twitter bought Vine and did nothing with it. Despite people seemingly liking it. Could've had tiktok a decade before bytedance. go figure.

Zenzuu1h ago

Monopolies shouldn't be allowed regardless. Not just for gaming.

MrCrimson16m ago

They buy IPs not talent. That's why these buyouts never work and the IPs die. Right now it's too expensive to develop games - but I expect that to shift maybe as AI tools can make it easier. The best games have been indie games for awhile as big developers fuck their ips to death with "games as a service" -

TGG_overlord4d ago

anast4d ago

It's definitely a game of the generation if not all time.

InUrFoxHole4d ago
