Antony writes "Naughty Dog has become known for their narrative-driven cinematic experiences in recent years, moving from developing challenging platformers with cartoon-esque art styles to a more serious, direct approach to video games. You could claim that Naughty Dog is essentially attempting to push the medium in a way that doesn’t just waste a few hours a day and provide some happiness amidst the terrors of reality, but a widespread of emotion purely through writing".
The new Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition has the community in an outrage after promising exclusive access to the new PvE mode for $250 USD.
$250? Do they not know all the other games that already exist or will be made in the future that can do similar?
This is for the hardcore people that have 2500 h in the game. They basically play that one game the whole year.
Oh and those same people are mad as hell at this... what a way to reward fans of your game and annihilate newcomers.
Microsoft just posted the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal financial results. The software maker made $61.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $21.9 billion during Q3. Revenue is up 17 percent, and net income has increased by 20 percent.
Xbox content + services up 62% while hardware down 31%... seems about right with the way they tout you don't need the hardware to play. People can play on their phones or smart tv or other means. I don't hardly play on my consoles directly since getting devices like the logitech g-cloud and ps portal. Which is to also say I have been playing more digital than physical because of these devices.
Too expensive hardware when others offer the same or more for less? Good work, Green Team.
"Despite some early successes for Xbox games on rival platforms, Xbox hardware is down by a massive 31 percent this quarter."
"Without Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue would have actually declined this quarter."
"Xbox content and services would have only been up a single percent without Activision Blizzard..."
"It looks like next quarter is going to be a similar story for gaming at Microsoft, too."
That is crazy... so A/B/K is carrying the whole Xbox gaming.
Oh and Microsoft will be fine. Windows, Office and Cloud are growing with each pc purchase.
As part of its plans to cut 1,900 jobs, Microsoft has reportedly shut down operations at Bethesda France, letting go roughly 15 people
Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much
Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region
Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.
I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games
Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo
The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.
Nah, Eventually it's going to happen. I have no doubt there will be a sequel. Although the current leak that's out right now, I think it's probably fake.
No it won't
He lied to Ellie in the end and it's obviously going to bite him on the ass. They did that to leave room for a sequel.
We see this in TV shows all the time at the end of a season where you see something that's obviously going to happen in the next season to drive that story forward.
enjoyed the first game and if the second is shit, doesn't mean it will take away the fun i already had with the first game. take the chance, something is better than nothing.
No it won't. Naughty Dog is too good for that mess.
I've always believed that not everything successful has to have a sequel just to appease the people asking for it. Joel and Ellie had a very contained story, and we don't know what world they moved on to after the events of the first game, but they weren't the only survivors. The game is called The Last Of Us. Who are the last of us? The last good people? The last humans? There are other characters that lived through the same period as them, from their own perspective, a la Resident Evil 2/3. I don't think Naughty Dog has to fit any pre-existing norms or expectations. Obviously the decisions they've been making over the last decade have done alright for their work.
