Hmm. Man i am just.._.SHITTY!!!!!! Love Doom though. Props you asshole : ) i just got ten time shittier

Yui_Suzumiya2887d ago

Wowser. Even on easy it took 12 hours and the Cyberdemon and Spider Mastermind slaughtered me repeatedly :3

Kingdomcome2472887d ago

I thought that the Cyberdemon was the most difficult boss, but I didn't die at the hands of any of the bosses. The Cyberdemon came really close to getting me with that stupid plasma like attack with the orbs that require that you kind of go back and forth leaving you only a split second to dodge.

Yui_Suzumiya2887d ago

It's embarrassing for someone like me who's been a fan for 22 years :(

How is it that some gamers manage these ridiculous feats so quickly? Like the guys who were speed running The Evil Within on Akumu mode within two weeks of its release, or the guys who achieved trackmaster on all 200 campaign challenges on Trackmania Turbo after a month or so. Or what about the people doing no death runs of Super Meat Boy? It just boggles the mind...

Time is our greatest enemy.

Kingdomcome2472887d ago

I know. I remember people having the achievements for beating Ori and the Blind Forest in under three hours and without dying, in the same run within a day of launch or so.

Having a job or a family sure can cut into game time!

pyroxxx2887d ago (Edited 2887d ago )

It is not like there is any other way to play it on Ultra Nightmare,.. Basically if you die it starts you at first level cuz fuck you. (you could potentionally save-scum chapters,.. but that is real cheating,.. basically you have to play perfectly 100 percent of the time) Think Ultra nightmare will basically be like Nightmare speedruns (1:15 or something/Draqu is running it daily (easy/nightmare) and he is really great at it,.. basically sets WR almost every day. https://www.twitch.tv/draqu... because it is way less dangerous to skip 3/4 of the game than to actually play trough most encounters)

DarXyde2887d ago (Edited 2887d ago )

So it's kind of like Dead Space 2. I believe it featured a similar mode where, once you die, you return to the last save (if you saved). Additionally, if you chose to save, you have a very limited, single digit quantity of saves and, to make matters worse, the game was set to the hardest difficulty automatically.

That all being said, it really puts it into perspective how good some people are at these games.

The difference between us and professional gamers I imagine is a lot like a skilled basketball playing freshman to Michael Jordan in his prime

DarkOcelet2887d ago

I hate to be that guy but Hardcore mode was not set on the highest difficulty but the one below it and you had 3 saves. It was still a ***** though.

DarXyde2887d ago

Oh, don't feel obligated to have some level of guilt for correcting be, mate. I very much appreciate the correction. :0)

Juiceid2887d ago

The 'hard to the core' achievement is obtained after beating the game on the hardcore difficulty. Then, replayed on zealot difficulty with only three saves. You were correct. Darkocelot was correct about it being tough.
Your comparison is justified about this and speed runners. Although I've never officially speed run a game,I would tear through the original Ninja Gaiden on nes within minutes. I got the dead space achievement because I loved the game so damn much I played through it many times. I knew where to be and when. It just clicked. Some games for some people do that, and it makes the challenge much more obtainable.

This guy is a legend, an awesome legend!
