Give it a shot and see how you go, there isn't any harm in that and if you end up getting in the top 12 racers then by golly gosh you have done very well.

I've actually got the Wii as well brainiac. You like your console, I get that, and I like my PS3 too (mostly for blu ray to be honest). Go back to a PS3 thread now, there's nothing for you here....

MS at least spend money on their COMMUNITY. They invest it in those that support it, the Community that helps them. All bar a few of the team have PS3's, do you hear them complaining about it. NO, DO you hear them disssing it, no. Do you see them going to Sony run events - no.

That's because SOny TELL it's supporters to buy their products, even if it costs way more than the others, and do NOT give anything back to them whatsoever. I've attended ONE Sony function this year, and you know what they gave a way - Nothing . . Atari gave away ONE single PS3, even when the winners were a tie. We know, we were there.

MS on the other hand have given away a $AU80,000 Harley, Ran MTV Functions, are giving away $AU30,000 cash, a Racing Go-Kart worth $AU15,000. Paying for full accomodation for the winner to attend Bathurst at a major hotel, Etc etc etc . .

What have Sony's gaming division done for it's COMMUNITY . . nada, zilch, sweet F-A basically, it just keeps saying . .

Buy our product because we TELL you to . .And who are the sheep now . .

Because it still has an "active" user base of in excess of 2 million players globally, that's why. That's 2 million gamers playing, modding, working on Live Leaderboards, in Paint Comps, Drifting events, Drag events and All the various Racing Class Tournaments . .

Plus it's a brilliant game, and even the racing pros like Marl Scaife love the game and have comment on it's extreme ability to be as close to a sim as you can get on a console. That's from REAL racing drivers, not MS fanboys . . okay.

SO with a userbase THAT big - still - they have every reason to keep the fire going with it.

At least MS are supporting their community giving them excellent chances at winning some awesome prizes for a little effort mainly settinga hot lap time in Forza2... which basically every XBOX 360 owner can enter and have go even if they aren't so good...

This way it allows everyone in Australia to have a crack at such an awesome prize. You don't have to be the best to enter you don't have to travel far and wide to enter as long as you have the game and gold that's all that matters...

So far i haven't seen ONE Sony function where they have had prizes like this and shown this much initiative as well... Like XboxOZ360 said IGN Black Beta For MSG4 they only gave away 1 PS3 and a game or 2 nothing more nothing less...

And actually, it was Atari and Konami that gave away the PS3 and games packs . . Sony were nowhere to be seen on the evening, not even a Logo was present . .

I just got back from the last day of the WCG rounds in Sydney where one young team will be heading to Germany to compete in the finals.

Then there was a HUGE fashion show that MS had organized that took 6 weeks to do. they got the young fashion students at Ultimo TAFE to design fashions around XboxLIVE Arcade games, with each student having to submit and parade 3 fashion items. There were 10 - 15 students. ALL funded by MS and that had very little to do with gaming directly, but they made it that way by getting the students to use game characters and games as their inspiration.

It was amazing and show stopping . . the even was huge and had some of Australia's top fashion designers, and celebrities there as judges . .No mean feat when it comes to organizing something like that. It was a World Cyber Gaming event, but did you see ONE Sony PS3, or Sony stand or any tournaments around - nope, not one.

And seeing it was open to all games, it was amazing not to even see one mention of Sony there. It just goes to shows how much they care about their local community, very little - if at all.

I walked away from the event with MS's verbal assurance that they will help us with two major promotions we have in mind that will take upwards of 4-6 months to organize . . . I don't see Sony offering that sort of support for their community - ever.

They just say "people WILL buy our products doesn't matter HOW much they cost" . .
