Legendary Marks are a new form of currency in Destiny 2.0. Legendary Marks are needed to purchase new Legendary gear from vendors. You also need Legendary Marks to re-purchase Year One weapons and armour with upgraded stats to reflect the 2.0 update, and have that weapon be as effective in battle as the new gear.
