Prepare Yourselves: The FFVII Remake Will Become Vaporware

Final Fantasy fans wept tears of joy. It was the biggest announcement in recent E3 memory. But sadly, the game probably won’t come to fruition.

If they had come out and showed the CG trailer and then said work would start soon or indicate it wasn't already being worked on then maybe I would think the game could become Vaporware.

However there have been plenty of interviews with Nomura where he basically says the project is and has been underway for much longer then most would think and that it is making good progress. Now sure take that with a grain of salt but I think SE knows they cannot screw this up and I don't think they would announce it unless they fully intended to get it done.

I think the bigger thing people should think about is what will be different. SE has said this will not be just the same exact game with new graphics. With that in mind what might they add or remove that might make people fear the release of the game. I think that is the far more interesting conversation here.

It isn't as though he has no reason to be; the precedence for this sort of thing has long since been set. Better to have tempered expectations so you don't end up disappointed anyway. I myself doubt it will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Sony not only announces games whether they have significant development completed or not.... They have a bad habit of it.

I'm not saying MS is any better. Last year they showed Scalebound, Crackdown and Phantom Dust.

There should be a rule at E3... All content must have a delivery date and the delivery date should be no later than one year from the date of the press conference. All vendors should only be allowed to show 30 second montages of games that are coming out later than one year from E3. To me, that is misleading consumers and just because all the console vendors do it, I don't think it is right. Vendors that violate the rule should get 20 minutes knocked off their next press conference for each violation.

I can't believe how many people jumped on Sony's bandwagon for this E3... It was ridiculous based on the fact they made almost no mention for the rest of 2015 and focused on beyond 2015... How many people are going to go out and buy a PS4 for the rest of this year based on that press conference only to sit there and wait for the content for more than a year in many cases.... Absolutely ridiculous.

There have been several games that have been announced way before their time & weren't relesed till 4 to 5 years later,some haven't even been released yet.FF-XV is one of them including TLG.Imo I think developers should not announce a game unless it's ready to release definitely within the next 6 to 12 months.Otherwise it's basically irrelevant.

Probably because those are the 3 games that supposedly WON E3 for Sony yet there is no REAL timeline announced. Quite honestly, i'd still like to see something definitive that TLG was running on a PS4 instead of PS3
