Exactly! If the experience is affecting one personally I could careless how I look. That London heist demo looks pretty sweet and is a perfect example on the direction VR should go. Virtual Theaters would work pretty sweet with it too.

I've had the Rift since last year, trust me when i say, you guys will love VR, it's a massive game changer, playing Project CARS, Elite:Dangerous and Alien Isolation just blew me away.

Planning to get both the Consumer Rift & the Morpheus next year, cant wait.

They also have virtual cinemas on the Rift as well, in fact i just watched The Empire Strikes Back on my Rift, amazing!

This is why I'm so psyched for hololens. Not as immersive but I can still interact with and be aware of the world around me.

Most people don't know two things about hololens, one is that in has about 40 FOV, that means basically that you only see a floating screen more less of the size of a TV where the "holograms" appear, not your full field of vision like in VR, which usually has 100 FOV. Secondly, it doesn't portray correctly blacks, so it looks washed out and quite transparent.

It would work great for many things, but for gaming, hell no, at least not at this point, and the small fov is not something to be fixed anytime soon due to resolution, besides its going to be quite expensive.

Yup you got it, the methods of control has been step by step Look how, Sony started with a camera, than added Move, and is now adding VR..started with PS2 with the eye toy, and is now on to the playstation 4

Dr. Marks was hired back in 1999 over at Sony for a reasons this was one of such reasons.

The concepts of VR and AR are not brand new, that's not the point, the point is problems in that go with such technology and how to solve such problems that go along with such technology and make it really work in such a environment.

Eyetoy and kinect both work, they both can be used for gaming, but without some external method control input past the user's own body and hands simulation control methods just does not work without physical means in many game design works.

thus without a physical control method like buttons there is other problems that go along with it if you are designing a game to use such a control method.

Thus Adding in a control method like a game controller or Something like Move.

Now adding in VR or AR you add in another layer of problems, but if for instance you add in head tracking+VR or AR now add in a physical controller like a game pad that can be tracked by an external camera thus add in a game pad with a light/pad or Playstation Move you now have a method that the game system can.

A) depth sense , know where its user is in the room.

B) where a user is placing its arms thus a simulated weapon in AR or VR could be included into the game and the console could have better Ai in response to such user's because the system has more data to go on. With button's being included less lag from user imput to system Ai response from such user imput.

C) wired VR is better for direct imput vs wireless an in adding such method both game pad / Move could be used because camera has better tracking with camera focus points instead of trying to require more data focus points without colored Lights like a persons hand without a led light the camera can focus on.

an Led not being there for the camera to be able to focus on its less accurate than a lit up area.

How were you planning on modeling both your hands accurately? I do agree though that actual movement must be difficult with 2 wands and not the nunchuk attachment with a moment stick.

think about what this design has in use..

the Playstation camera for the PS4 does what: it can track both movement and depth.

Now since both the ps4 pad and playstation move has multicolored LED lights the External camera knows to instead of trying to track your fingers on the pad it just tracks the Move or the game pad movement, add in both the fact the game pad has a gyroscope and the playstation Move also has
such. It knows from the cameras perspective and the user depth and area of location.

which still does not stop the camera from taking incoming data of your hand is it more accurate to render every axis point of movement of your hands? Say than kinect..No but it does not have to be.

the point is by the camera being told to track a direct focal point it calculated the 3D area and location of the object anyway. It would know where that is in location anyway. It still has enough information to render a solid meshed object or persons hands.

as for the movement stick the camera once again has 3D depth tracking in the new camera for the PS4

so PS4

Has Playstation . 3D depth sense Camera.
Has Also a Lighted Game pad/playstation Move with each having a Gyroscope.
Has Now Morpheus.

Note: And if Morpheus also has a head mounted camera display on the front top of the unit facing out where the developer can program space area AR could also be included!

The External playstation camera is now a 3D depth sensing camera so it would not need a external game movement stick, would it be better to have one..sure, thats why the game pad is there with a lighted front..you would not need a move controller if the game is made for the game pad anyway.so it is Move/Game pad+ Morpheus is pretty much accurate VR for a reasonable Price that can be quite viable for real hard core gaming, because of the design of the way The camera+move was developed, Morpheus being added pretty much completed the last piece needed for a over all good VR design, but the camera had to also be updated to be a 3D depth sensing camera
movement.

which it has in order to track body movement.I have always said Playstation Move combined with Kinect would in fact be the best over all core control system to combine with VR .Playstation 4 3D camera is no kinect, but its still a good camera.
