TheSixthAxis: "Our Japanese is sketchy, but we're going to go out on a limb here and throw a few things into the mist: hopefully some are true, but all appear to be updates that SCEA haven't yet specifically mentioned."
The site goes on to mention a new 'off' option under the users list, surround sound MP3 recording and new sorting options for your photos.

"Our Japanese is sketchy, but we're going to go out on a limb here and throw a few things into the mist: hopefully some are true, but all appear to be updates that SCEA haven't yet specifically mentioned.
Firstly, there's now an 'off' button under the PSN ID logins (on the far left of the XMB), as seen in the photo below. We're not entirely sure what's going on there, but it looks like some kind of stand-by, and Watch Impress suggest that the System Software will update itself after a power cut.
Photos can now be organised by when they were taken, and there also appears to be some kind of 'surround sound' MP3 recording and playback. Finally, and this is where we need proper Japanese translation, but we're reading something like 'frame noise reduction' and 'block noise reduction' for media on the hard drive, and news about DTS-ES and DTS 96/24 playback.
If anyone can properly translate, please get in touch, but we assume there'll be an English update log soon enough."
