New Sony Trademark Hints to Probable MLB 15: The Show Announcement Soon; Will it Still be Cross-Gen?

On October 29th Sony Computer Entertainment filed for the registration of a trademarks that heavily hints to an impending release of MLB 15: the show.

Hope not. MLB The Show was gorgeous on PS4, even though it was cross-gen. Would like to see how much better they could make only focusing on a single platform.

Yeah but PS2 got The Show till 2011 so I really doubt they are going to stop making it for Vita or PS3.

I know they like to support their older consoles but they need to shift more people from PS3 to PS4…And that was something, IMO, they did wrong at the beginning of the 7th generation

All due respect to the PS3 owners but I hope MLB 15 is a PS4 only release…Like you said, I'd love to see how San Diego would make the series when it's only focused on 1 console…And help PS3 owners transfer over

The Show 14 does support dedicated servers but its only been patched once back in July if I'm not mistaken.

i think it will be for PS3 too. PS3 is still selling 5 million a year and there are many PS3 users who still didn't jump to next gen.

Yeah. The game is not a huge seller, and keeping it cross-gen allows them to recoup as much as possible on their investment.

Plus it's not like keeping it exclusive to PS4 means that they are going to produce a massively different game anyway. It's baseball.

Of course it'll be cross gen, will probably be for the next 3-4 years.

It'll be on PS3 for years to come but with diminishing returns as more and more focus goes into the PS4 version.

Most of the people I know who still play it on PS3 only do so because PS4 doesn't have the MP3 hard drive support required for Sounds of the Show.

Can't wait love The Show series. It's arguably the best sports game franchise out. Too bad my Rays will suck even worse than last year.

As long as they don't stop making it for the vita, I don't really care (although history says they will continue it on the PS3). I love baseball on the go.
