IGN: It's Nintendo's 125th anniversary! Yes, waaaay back in September 1889 "Nintendo Koppai" was founded as a playing card manufacturer. But over the last 40 years or so, Nintendo has grown into one of the most prolific, successful, and beloved video game makers anywhere. To celebrate, all month long we're playing 125 of of the greatest Nintendo games ever made.

Oh, man! Memories! Back in my home country, I used to go pay for half an hour at a local arcade just to play this! Other days it would be Banjo, Killer Instinct, GoldenEye, Mario 64, and Star Fox.

[Europe] 1080° Snowboarding (N64) – Wii U Virtual Console Trailer and screens

1080° Snowboarding (which originally came out on the Nintendo 64) is one of the games hitting the Wii U Virtual Console this week, in Europe. It’s the US version (runs at 60Hz).

Top Five Most Underrated Nintendo Franchises

Phil of SPC writes, "For a company that's been in gaming for several decades now, Nintendo has amassed an insanely robust repertoire of franchises that have mostly withstood the test of time. However, for every Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Pokemon, there are franchises that are overlooked and don't receive the same kind of pomp and circumstance. These five Nintendo franchises I have selected qualify as those. While such a category of game franchises is certainly subjective, I've tried to pick the ones from Nintendo that don't get their due diligence. Nice list, barring 1 franchise...Style Savvy!? Cant really comment as Ive never played a game is said franchise, but come on. Id personally place Rhythm Heaven games in the place of Style Savvy.
